Nothing wrong with geometry.

You could always needle turn applique! Or use the technique that Alex teaches. Do you have a invisible hem stitch...or what ever it is that she uses.

Pick some stitch that you do have and use it. Break out of the box. Which show teaches using a ECG type stitch--essentially freehand squiggly line. It would look like fur on some of those furry critters.

What color way are you going with?

He would like pictures, rather than what I have done so far, because he says that although 'they are very good, they are just exercises in geometry....' but I prefer sewing geometry to applique

Besides I am not sure that I have a blanket stitch on my machine & I don't like plain zig-zag

The only thing is, I have to work out the design, before I can go on my spending spree - dang!

I might do that with mine too if I have enough greens left. Love the hedgehogs on the back and that star in the middle is wonderful and a great way to use up some of the leftover scraps.
