Hi Marilyn -

Thanks for the offer! If it's not any trouble for you, then that would help me out a lot. But I will find the time to do this no matter when my turn comes up.

So, Maureen, please switch Marilyn and myself (in case I just sounded wishy-washy above).

I'm so excited! This is really beyond my comfort level, but the type of thing I really, really want to do. (And with a group of people who have become very special to me!!) Thanks to everyone!!

Nancy

I can be flexible too if needs be. I can only think of one nightmare week in the year for me and that's from 29th July to 5th August when we have 4 of our 5 children's birthdays!! But that is only a week and not constantly every day. Quilting is always a welcome relief between birthday parties and cakes. :D

Don't know how it started but remember reading about the idea long ago ! Leans toward the art quilt but I'm thinkin' that
the more traditional can find their way in and around, too. I tend to take "flyers" out of my box now and then ! I like
to get my small group (6) to do this in the future !

In my guild there are 'traditional' quilters and 'modern/artsy' quilters. This may be a fun project for the artsy ones, or a great initation into art quilting for those who are just beginning. I love the idea. Do you know the origin of this?

Marilyn, it is great that you are offering to change with Nancy. This is what I want to hear - whatever is best for everyone before the start date, then it will run smoothly and get finished on time :D :D

Forgot to say that if you change the order, will you let me know please.

Maureen - The new order is fine with me. I will do my best to get finished within my allotted time. It looks like I will have it over the Christmas holiday so there will be around 5 days when I'll be out of town and can't work on it, but I should be able to work hard around that. But that would probably be the case for anyone on the list. I'll get started on my Christmas presents now!

Thanks!

Nancy

Maureen, The order is fine with me. I did not get any information indicating order until I saw this post. Have I missed something? Just checking, because of what happened with Renata's email. I'll be eager to know how all that works out on a calendar. It will be hard to wait, but it will also be a good thing. It will be impetus to get other stuff done so my schedule is free for "The Whisper Quilt". Thanks again for all you are doing!

I sent out an email to everyone concerned through TQS yesterday asking for you contact information. You sent me an email back with your address and kindly explained to me about the USA postal service :) so I am sure you have received it :!: :!: The order was near the top of that.

Limbania would like to start her quilt earlier than suggested. So if we change the order to: -

2. – rehak
3. – Limbania
4. - idaho
5. – Renata
6. – loise98

Will that be suitable for everyone or has anyone got a problem with the new order?

FYI, Renata, I recieved the emails from Maureen and they had the info I was expecting. Did you report your problem to Bob the Tech Guy? Did anyone else recieve strange messages?

Somehow I missed getting in on this, you have all been so quiet whispering around the TQS forum...but I will be carefully watching you "Quilt Whisperers" (Like Horse Whisperers..)

Will you be posting what you do? Or is this going underground!LOL I will be glad to be in a waiting line, if someone has to drop out for any reason.

Sorry that you missed the beginning of it Terrie. :( It started with just a mention and then just took off in a matter of days. I had to stop at 10 as that is enough to handle logistically for both sides of the Atlantic in the specific time line and we are making quilts not blocks.

I will certainly put you on the waiting line underneath Lottie.

No, we won’t be posting what we do as that would spoil the whole thing as it has to be a complete surprise to each person so they have no preconceived ideas about what other people have made so the only inspiration is from the quilt they receive. :o One of the rules is ‘NO chatting between friends or discussions about designs or sewing in front of other people’. It seems very hush hush, but that is the whole point of the challenge so that, at the end, you can see the progress made from one photograph to the last quilt. What we are doing in the comfort of our own home will be nobodies business but our own.

Just a thought – I hope the group realise this??

Once started this thread will be very quiet and will probably just be used for saying when a quilt has been posted but not anything about it. The main chat will be between personal emails. The big reveal won’t be until after the Loch Lomond Quilt Show in May 2014.

As Wendy says, there is nothing stopping other people starting a group and doing it as well.
