Ooops, I'm not a whisperer and probably shouldn't be lurking on this topic, but.... how else would I find out it's Rita & Shaun's anniversary?? Happy Anniversary, Rita!!!

Happy anniversary

I suppose you could also say a thimbleful - just make sure that you are not using a ring thimble  unless it is held over the (larger) glass 8)

Thanks for the information on the wee dram. See, we can always learn something new here  Since I don't like scotch, I'll just stick to my tequila or maybe some cognac with coca-cola, it's a drink called París de Noche (Paris at night) in México. Now you've learned something new too

I'd like the soup recipe too Marilyn, sounds yummy! :) Hope all that smoke goes away soon!

Been curious what "wee dram" was. Thought it was a particular kind of liquor. Now I get it. For me that would be a blended margarita with salt on the rim of the glass or a good shot of Tequila :D

Besides all the learning and sharing tips and tricks, part of the fun is all the "communication" going around

Scots Noun

'wee dram'

(euphemistic) A shot of Scotch Whisky; a single malt Scotch, for example from Glenmorangie or Laphroaig or a blended whisky like The Famous Grouse or Black Bottle.

Dram

Scottish word which comes from Scottish Gaelic - the literal meaning of 'dram' in English is simply 'drink', so it doesn't really have to be just whisky/spirits though it's normally used for these things.
