There is nothing to say that we cannot put on a second label with the title of the quilt later - I agree that the title can really influence how you view the quilt, just looking at quilt 100, Red Fury re-inforced that point. So what I could do is make up labels with

Loch Lomond Quilt Show - Chinese Whispers 2014
WHISPERS ACROSS THE POND' - No. 8
Made by Rita Connolly, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

Changing it up for everyone, and I could leave a space for the title to be added later.

By the way the 100 words written description - where does that go in the grand scheme of things?

PS thanks for reminding me about the label designing - it had slipped my memory  I will try and get on with something.

Sounds good to me but how about everyone else :?: if you want to make your own label that is fine as well :)

Rosemary, go back to page 1 where the rules are and you will see "100 words written as the quilt is finished to explain the quilters thought process". This will be laminated and put up beside every quilt so that the public can see how we got from A to B. You can put this in with the quilt you are sending back to me.

Everyone, it is a good idea to go back to page 1 every now and then and read up on the rules especially when it is coming near your turn.

Okay I am not sure which number I am but you get the idea. It could be more specific if we want it to be too.

Maureen your brain is probably working overtime trying to figure out what to do with the photograph. Best of luck with it and don't rush it too much. :D

Did we agree on a size or are we all free to make it whatever size we want so long as it is within the guidelines? I just can't remember.

Rita, I think that is a good idea that we all do our own label but without the name of the quilt. :) I think Nancy’s idea will work with it as well – putting where you are from under your name then as Nancy said everyone will know we are from a lot of places. :) :)

Maybe if we ask Rosemary nicely, she would design a label with our group name that she could email to everyone to print out if they wanted to but don't have to.

The rules say the maximum overall size of quilt is 40” x 40” and the minimum overall size of quilt: 24” x 24”, so you can make it whatever size you like within those boundaries. Just take into account that there will be posting involved so don’t make one out of heavy metal.

As for the label, I will go anyway you prefer to do it. Just say the word and I shall make it so! but I must admit I like Rita's idea--it takes the stress off of one or two people (namely you and Rosemary if we were all to have the same label) and could always change it later. However, I am not wedded to any one particular way--totally flexible on this. Now off to catching up on the rest of the postings!

Sounds good to me. Should we include where we are from on the label? Something like:

Made by Nancy Rehak
Colorado, USA

Then when the quilts are together people could easily see how diverse our group is.

I have a vague memory that someone suggested we should keep the quilts to the smaller end to save on postage, but I don't remember for sure. I can do a specific size if everyone wants, or go my own way.

Fine by me.

Maureen chill out and don't feel pressured to rush it. You've got time to do some pondering. :D I'd love to have a glimpse of the photo, it's going to be such fun at 'the reveal' :D
