Well, it seems like we all are getting winter weather extremes ! Sorry you've got the bug Rosemary....
hope you over-the-pond folks aren't having the Flu like we are here in the States ! I'm working at
dodging it  ...Rita...too much of a good thing..I complain about an inch or two of rain living here on
the edge of high desert country  ...it sure can do lots of damage ! Limbania...I had the best nights' sleep ! :D
I'm glad it's all in your capable hands ! Maureen...will send your quilt out on Tuesday...and email the
info then, too. I've enjoyed having your Whisper on my design wall. ! :D I'm back to work on "Easy Street"
and it is sewing together smoothly...I love to piece ! I'm hoping to get some photos of the treadle machine
today..as DH has the shop warmed up...he's done all he can do on the cabinet. Now it is up to me to stain a little
and put some finish on it. Hummmmm? stop sewing ! Hummmm? Should we start a thread about our "old friends"
and "new to us " sewing machines? I read several comments about them here and there.... :D :D :D

Limbania - How exciting! I'm starting to shake since it's getting closer to my turn!! But I can't wait to see the beautiful quilt you create!

Rosemary - I'm sorry you're feeling poorly and hope that it all goes away quickly!

And I hope for good weather for everyone, whatever they need. Less precipitation for Rita, more for us, etc. Finally, I hope for warmth for Izzy as she runs around in her shorts and spaghetti straps!!

Well Maureen I hope you continue to be so lucky. Rosemary, sorry to hear you are poorly. I think your DH might get his wish tonight as there is widespread snow forecast. We are supposed to be heavily hit tonight on the east coast of Ireland. The kids will be so pleased if we are snowed in. I won't!

Rita, we have had no snow except for a very small flurry last week that lay for about an hour before it melted. :) The sun has been shining nearly every day and there have been blue skies and beautiful sunsets :D :D but it has been bitterly cold. :( :( In Helensburgh we actually don't get much snow most years as we are right by the sea. 8) Further up north in the Highlands and the East coast of Scotland are getting it bad but they usually do. My son in the south of England is getting a lot of snow and of course they definitely are not used to it down there.

Sorry you're dealing with a chest infection--hope you can get it resolved with minimum of discomfort so you can get back to what you love doing best, Rosemary!

Limbania, now that the beauty of Marilyn's quilt has mesmerized you, are you sweating yet? Just trying to put myself in your shoes... :? I hope you really do have fun with Chinese Whispers--while you may suffer moments of frustration and confusion as you design your piece, creating something unique and beautiful is going to be the greater enjoyment for you. That is my wish for you! :D

I am sending warm thoughts to all of you who are cold, wet, damp, coughing or a bit worried. Even though we can't see that "g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s" quilt it's exciting to know that it is gorgeous. Way to go, Marilyn! Thinking of you all.

Ouch! Sorry you're getting a chest infection Rosemary :( Hope you can see the doctor soon. In the meantime stay inside for sure. You might want to try some lemon and honey. You can add 1 drop of organic tea tree essential oil to the mix. Also rub the tea tree in your chest and the sole of your feet. Wet your hands before you apply it, water helps the oil to be absorbed deeper and faster thru the skin. You can use the tea tree oil topically every two to three hrs. At home we use it that way and helps in that and many other ways. Sending healing thoughts your way :)

Piffling little bit of snow on Friday night, DH avidly watching the forcasts wanting lots more, theoretically we should get more over night tonight. However I am stopping inside, because my pre-christmas cold has made a conversion to a chest infection and am waiting for tomorrow morning to try and get a dr's appointment. Izzy got dressed this morning looking very summery - shorts and spagetti strap top  makes me cold just thinking about it brrrrrrrrrr after my comment about it, she went and put some socks on as well

   Very funny Limbania! You had me fooled too. :D

We have had snow and rain simultaneously for the past two days. The snow has stayed on the higher ground where we are but it has just meant major flooding down lower. We drove through a flooded road on Friday night (a regular route of ours) and many times DH has said in the past they really need to do something about a bulging wall on the road which he thought would fall with the next bit of foul weather... he was right there was a landslide there. Luckily we were not there at the time. I have never seen anything like the rain. Going under a bridge, also near the same place, was like driving through a waterfall. I would imagine there will be a lot of structural damage after this weekend. Today it is not raining or snowing...so far. Hope it's not too bad where you are Wendy and Rosemary and Lorna. Has it still missed Scotland Maureen?

And this is a quilted bag I made a couple of years ago. Very sturdy and cute. Is expandable so, you can carry a little or a lot.

I thought to put the photo of a quilt to tease you a little  but decided to share this instead
