Barbara, it looks great and I love the details you've added in the borders!

Dear SOTT’S;

I have finally completed my medallion friendship quilt with the exchange triangles. I have learned so much & if I did it over again I would do it differently. I learned the hard way after spending days designing a section & then having to remove it from the bed for a house showing. A design wall is definitely the way to go! I finally got one & wished I had it from the start. I also learned that I should have taken photos along the way to judge “values” of how a fabric would appear. It has been the most difficult quilt I have ever made & never would have even attempted it without all of you sisters. Thank you all so much for your support, encouragement & enthusiasm to expand my quilting skills to another level. Love your Quilting Sister, Barbara from Bluffton, SC

P.S. Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving & I am now onto layering my quilt & quilting my top. YeeHa !!

yey!!! I finally got started with my quilt... only two hst blocks left to sew... need to add the additional strips, borders, etc and plan to do so over the next week. Was worried about getting it quilted in time, but with the extension, it is a no-brainer... Thanks heaps for the extension.

Wow! Just read about the deadline extention. Great news, although I am almost done with my HST quilt. Maybe I'll have time to get something done with the strips and have 2 in the book! Yea! Thank you!

I'm still working for the end of the year deadline too on the HST quilt. But now may get my strips done as well by May. Good luck on your project Susan.

Thank you! These exchanges have been huge, overwhelmingly emotional, and have left many of us swimming in a sea of colorful possibilities. Knowing we (I) have more time to create and complete our quilting wish list(s) will make the time spent much more enjoyable. I have been playing with several ideas to use my HSTs and Strips in the same projects. I've just got to get something finished so I can share with everyone. Thank you for all of your deadlines Carol. I've now put myself on record to my SOTTs, BRU and SS sisters that I will have something finished before Christmas and Beyond. So it's to the ironing board and design wall I go.

Many thank you's need to be said to all the people who made Festival week so much fun. But, one in particular stands out in my mind and she is Wanda Myers for arranging a wonderful TQS Reunion dinner on Thursday evening. From the bottom of my heart, Wanda, THANK YOU for stepping up to the plate and volunteering to make arrangements for all of us to enjoy a wonderful evening together. It was one of the highlights of the trip for me!

Bear hugs,
Shirley

Same here, but for me at least, I still need to keep on pushing it through, and not leave it until the last minute - whenever the last minute is!

:D Rosemary, the lovely boxes you made for Debbie and Clara's special gifts of 64(?) blocks each representing all the TQS members from the international countries and all US states was very thoughtful and added a special touch to the presentation of our gratitude to Debbie and Clara who made this whole exchange possible! Well done, Rosemary and thank you.

Cheers,
Shirley

That's great news but I will still be dropping mine off at the quilter this week as she may be too busy next year doing show quilts to fit me in. But that gives me lots of time to bind and add labels and I may even make time to do a bonus mini quilt.

Thanks from me, too, Carol! Since finishing my quilt will no longer be lumped in with the many other things that must get done by the end of the year, it will be much more relaxing process! Best wishes to you and thanks for everything you are doing.

Carol Thank you so much for extending the deadline. I was able to get my HST quilt out to the longarmer but I knew I would not be able to get my strips done now maybe I can. Happy you guys had a great time in Houston. Greetings from sunny Canada before the snow. Joan

:D Carol Dear, you made a lot of us so happy by e-x-t-e-n-d-i-n-g the SOS memory book deadline! I'm sending a huge virtual hug to you (and your DH, I'm sure) for that decision! We got a reprieve, sisters and brothers! Let's make Carol proud of each one of us! BTW, the prototype was fab, fab, fab! Carol, have a wonderful and relaxed time at a beautiful wedding coming up for you and your DH!

Hugs,
Shirley
