My mega pixels were just under 4 MBs.

Margo,
I'm trying to photograph my quilt top again and I'm not sure about the mega pixels vs the file size in MB's.
I changed the setting on my camera to the larges size, on the outside of the camera it says 8.1 mega pixels. The photos I am taking are just under 3 MB's in size when I load them onto my computer, when I crop them they are just under 2 MB's in size. My question -do I need a file size between 4 and 8 MB's- ?
Appreciate the help.

Barb and Peg, I really like the reds you have used with your HSTs! Both quilts are stunning! Every time I see a new one, I want to make that pattern. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with making the Mountain Top quilt, though. When ever I get to mine! lol!

Peg, your quilt is beautiful!! I would do the edge to edge or allover quilting in the center and then fancy featherwork in the borders. It's sure to be fantastic whatever you quilt on it!

Thanks for all the compliments. I changed my plan several times while making this quilt so it's nice to have it all come together. I will be quilting it on my LA. I just got in in Feb so am still learning but loving it. I'm getting comfortable enough with feathers that I will probably do those in the border - still thinking about the center.

Oh Peg! It's wonderful!! The 8" border works because the blocks in the center are 8" and I love the red squares inside the narrow border! As for the quilting, Kathy is right that the quilting in the HSTs will not show up much, so do your most decorative quilting in the 4" x 8" solid sashing strips, or an overall in the center and special quilting in the solid borders.

I don't know if you are quilting it yourself or having it done, or if you are using a domestic machine or longarm.
If I were quilting it on a domestic machine, I would probably just do a diagonal grid in the entire center with a walking foot, and do something wonderful in the wide borders where it's easier to maneuver the quilt for a free motion design.
Can't wait to see what you decide to do!

OMG! Peg, your quilt is beautiful!
I like heavy quilting so I would probably do lots of feathers in the border. The HST blocks won't show much of the quilting so just about anything would work there.
WOW! This is another one I wish I had made.
