Debbie, I missed the earlier post with the pic of Edyta Sitar and her HST quilt. Thank you so much for posting that. her quilt is fabulous, as I would expect. I can't even remember which fabrics were in "my" HST's so can't tell if any of mine are in the part I can see :D .

And, the photo of you is wonderful, by the way.....

I thought you might enjoy seeing the quilt Edyta made from our SOTT's exchange. Barb was at quilt market and she sent the picture to me. I don't know if Edyta will have a booth at Festival, but maybe she will be at the TQS booth for a Meet & Greet.

Debbie, thank you for posting the photo of Edyta with her gorgeous HST quilt! I was wondering what her quilt would look like, and it looks beautiful!

Hi Jan.
I'm glad to hear that Annie Smith is teaching. I have been worried about her because she doesn't seem to make podcasts and not much is happening on her website. I know her from taking her first online class The Quilter's Palette a few years ago. She is a nice lady.
It seems that you enjoyed it all, wine and everything :D :D :D

Thanks, Lois! I did have fun today even though my teacher was delayed coming from quilt market at Houston. She arrived at 3 pm instead of 9 am. We made the best of it and she taught from 3-9pm. It was Annie Smith who has a nice book on applique and who does a podcast called the Quilting Stash or something like that.

So sorry you didn't get to go to your classes at Houston!

I had a glass of wine with my take out dinner at the hotel and learned that it makes the applique process harder if you aren't used to it. I think I drank it a little too fast. Oh well, at least It wore off before I drove home. My LQS has a 'ladies night out" and they serve wine, which I understand probably helps sell more fabric. But it's nice and they serve food too. Lol I shouldn't mix an iron and fusibles with wine and expect not to get it on the iron and on the fabric where it's not supposed to be. Actually I do that totally sober too. (I had to get out the mr. Clean magic eraser in the morning to get my iron ready to pack.) :D :D :D Jan

Looking good there Jan. Once you have sewing knowledge in one style of work it is amazing how much of it relates to another, and just the pure practice on your sewing machine for quilting & piecing will help your clothes sewing immensely (& vice versa  )lotti wrote:

Here's Shellie looking like Pocohantas (sp?). Thankfully I didn't mess with the instructions when I held the first piece up to her and it looked off. Now to get back to the 1/4" seam instead of 5/8ths. Quilt show in New Hampshire today. :D :D :D Can't wait to see the vendors. I better set a limit on expenditures. My teacher is Annie Smith of the podcast :Quilting Stash. She will be late due to delayed flights so the class has been stretched into the evening.

Jane, you really made a wonderful quilt. Congrats. Clara good luck getting all those signatures. And Rosemary (re our conversation about seams and fitting sewn clothes) I was thinking of you yesterday when I ventured into "couture" while I sewed up a Halloween costume for my daughter. It came out really nice. And Margo I used my little red tool to set a masking tape to show where a 5/8 seam should be. It is true that all this sewing of quilts, helps one to do other sewing better than they would otherwise. It actually fit my daughter when it was done much to my amazement. I guess those bust and waist measurements work. I was using fusible interfacing, which I understand because of my quilting(and rushing through this because I thought she would need it the next day.) I would post a photo but this is about quilts. Sorry for the digression. jan

They are left over itty bitty prairie points from my Alzheimer Quilts. I think they are fun and they happen to play off the triangles on the ends of the rows too. Didn't see that until the picture. Thanks guys for all the nice comments! Clara

I believe they are prairie points Renata. Clara I love the quilt. And the quilting, the butterflies, just lovely. :D

Love the colors and movement the quilting gives to the overall concept. Are those little prairie points?
