TOPIC: Wayward and Adoptable HSTs

Re: Wayward and Adoptable HSTs 09 May 2011 07:21 #64387

International quilters. We primarily used flat rate boxes to make it easier to have a standard pay rate. These boxes are small and only 315 max HSTs will fit in them. If your quantity was over that I probably equalled out the bags. Please be patient and see if a second box arrives. Clara :D :D :D

Christine, you might want to check out this topic and do some swapping! forum/friendship-triangle-exchange/4617-sottts-clearing-house-duplicate-and-wayward-exchange

I received my HSTs in the mail today and they are all beautiful. I was six short of the amount that I sent in (not bad considering how many there was to sort) so if someone has an extra that they would be willing to send to me that would be wonderful but if not then that is fine too.

Hi I really need some help here. I am 492 hst short. Please someone help me out :(

OK Everyone - we are ready for the SOS. Susan (aka snflrz4u2) is 492 hsts short. I have her address and I am asking that anyone who was over (or just willing to help) message me directly with the amount you are willing to send. I will email you her mail address so you can send them to Susan directly.

Judging by past posts through out this exchange I can see that we are such a wonderfully generous group, I am sure we can get Susan her missing triangles.

Thank-you!
Kari

We did it! There are 492 hst on their way to Susan (or about to be). Thanks Everyone!

So, this is my question - how are YOU defining 'duplicate' - based on fabrics or based on labels?
I define duplicates as same fabric on both sides of the HST. I received sometimes 20+ from one person, but she mixed them up pretty good, and of those I only had about three duplicates.

I have been lovingly going through my HST’s; they are all beautiful, beautiful and beautiful. Thank you one and all for your HST’s. :D :D

Of the 615 I received, I had quite a few duplicates (10 and above, with a 18 from IL and a 22 from NJ) but I can live with that, it really doesn’t bother me in the slightest. :)

The only thing I am disappointed about is that all of them are from the USA (42 states) and one from Canada. I would really love to receive one from the rest of the International members (they are International to us as well) Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland etc, etc.

I don't know if this is the right forum :? but I will post it in another one as well

Thanks to everyone who is helping me out!!! I know that 490 hst sounds like a lot to be short but my sister, happythreads, and I went in together and each did 490hst. I know that the job of sorting through all of the hst was one I sure would not have wanted to do and our other half was thought to have been placed in the envelope and then in the hustle and bustle of counting and mailing it was just overlooked. You are all so kind to come to my rescue. If I can ever be of help don't hesitate to call on me.

Regarding the definition...10 the same fabric or 10 from the same participant , both apply..tho' 10 same fabric is
less workable and too many is just too many! Marilyn

Re: Wayward and Adoptable HSTs 02 May 2011 11:15 #63988

Over the weekend I sat down to try to log my hst in order to find the multiples and pull out my extras. And I have to say that I am having a difficult time defining what exactly is a duplicate. Originally I defined it as coming from the same person. But once I really started looking at each 'duplicate' I realized that almost all of the hst are from different fabrics. Out of the 400 I made it through last night I ended up with only about 50 exact duplicates, and probably 250 person duplicates.

I want to say thank you to the sorters - again - because they have truly exceeded all my expectations. Wonderful job laddies! Thank-you for all of your hard work.

So, this is my question - how are YOU defining 'duplicate' - based on fabrics or based on labels?
