Hi Lotti :- I Too am doing a Happy Happy Dance, i am so pleased you liked the pot holder I made for you  it's always slightly worrying when you make something for some one else, but I knew you liked cats and you had a quirky sense of humor so 'voila' hence quirky cat. Dorothy Suffolk UK

havn't named him yet - he's coming to the office with me tomorrow and spend a little time hanging on my monitor and overseeing my work - figure we'll get to the naming once we've had a few chats - his colleagues at the office are my buddy "george" the little teddy bear who spends his days sitting in the telephone cradle of my phone-holder and looking out for me, "fuzz-face" a very fuzzy canadian moose living in a tree together with his buddy a small clip-on koala bear (the so-called tree is actually only a glorified plant - the vicus benjamin tree i had is practically dead so they both moved into the live and happy plant on top of the fridge - they get a better view that way) yup, my office boasts a tiny little fridge (left-over from an old meeting room), loads and loads of boxes full of everything and anything you could think might be useful at an exhibition stand (everything from paperclips to champagne glasses (of course there's a bottle to go with these in my fridge), hammers and ????), if i didn't continuously pack bits and pieces to go to shows i could not find my way to my desk - unfortunately they generally come back to chaos-office after the shows - oh well...

and poor cat is going to take pride of place and oversee it all for a little while until we get used to each other - then he'll move home into my kitchen to oversee recipe creations, successes & failures
well he looks such a proud and singleminded cat - definitely a cat with an attitude - i'm sure he'll soon let us know what he wants :P :P :P :P :P

I'm with Margo - he definitely NEEDS a name! I"m also a little green as well. Absolutely adorable kitty. He looks like he has that "cat attitude" so you might want to take that into consideration when naming him.

I've got my partner and now am brainstorming what I am going to make. This is fun and a great way to get to know another TQS member.

I know y'all are busy with HSTs, etc., :) but wanted to post this reminder for those interested in participating
in the Potholder Swap.
There is one week until the deadline of May 1 to send me an e-mail at

mailto:tqs.potholderswap@gmail.com

to let me know that you're in. I will then reply with a swap partner & that's when the fun begins! :D :D

Got my email sent to I hope is the right person and am anxiously waiting to hear back! I take it the holder will be 7". Any other specifics I should know about?

not sure if I got your e-mail...did you send it to mailto:tqs.potholderswap@gmail.com ?

As far as size, colors, will you swap just one or a pair, and so on, all these details will be decided by you &
your partner, so anything goes as long as you both agree.

The idea of sending a recipe as well sounds terrific! You are the most creative & thoughtful sisters!

my very first quilt projects were potholders - always have that heat resistant batting around as i also use it for placemats - it's great stuff

Hi - I'm in for the potholder swap - have sent my email to Romira. No problem to send a recipe also. Maybe we can tell a little about ourselves and what our kitchen is like, and then we can try to stretch our imagination to match our partner's colours/tastes. BTW - I have heat resistant batting for making potholders. Now I can use it!

great idea Rosemary
yup - combined recipe/potholder swap sounds fab
hmmmmmmm opens up all kinds of new options: picture of the result on front & recipe on back...
but that would limit the recipe size/difficulty - which might not be a bad idea either
not that this is what i will end up doing - but...
