Hallelujah...as of 15 minutes ago, all of the packages of U.S. HSTs have been put in the mail. All names have been checked off our spreadsheet and they are now in the hands of USPS. I hope they all arrive safely & soundly, and maybe even by Saturday if all goes well!

Now I wonder what I will do with all my extra time? It's been a fun, interesting ride and I have made many new friends, though maybe some will only be through email..it has been priceless and I thank you for all the help, the support, and the EXPERIENCE!!

Hi debbie - I think someone already answered your question about QU. I've taken a few classes on line with them and they've been very good. The have very well known instructors. I learned how to fabric paint! The class was just great and all the instructions were easy to follow with great pictures of what to expect from each process. I learned curved piecing from Michelle Scott years ago. Her class was wonderful. Take a peek at quiltuniversity.com. Next to this site it's one of my favs. The Quilt Show has sooo many little free lessons and so much other info that I don't think any other site can come close to it. I find I visit 4 or 5 times a week. What if I miss something? What if I'd missed the strip and triangle exchanges? Ee Gads!!!!

Thanks for adding your profile photo Shirley! So nice to "see" you!! :D

Thanks, Margo. I was raised in a "children should be seen and not heard" environment, so I've been doing just the opposite in my adulthood :!:

Shirley...You are such a beautiful lady and I love seeing you in 'almost person'. Thanks for putting the picture up for all of us to enjoy and to be able to put a face to your name.

Roine, What is QU..is that your LQS or is it something on-line? I do think I'm going to need some hands-on help because I didn't get much out of the EQ videos.

Debbie, QU is Quilt University an online teaching place where all different classes are taught. I have taken 5 or 6 classes with them and think they are very good. Have a look at http://www.quiltuniversity.com you will be amazed how many and varied classes they do.[/quote]

QU does sound interesting and it's good to hear positive feedback about it. I'll going to check it out for the EQ7 classes...especially if I can take the class on my time schedule.

Donna:

I like the proposed designs for your HST quilt, but have to confess I prefer the HSq border. It's really a personal preference. Either way, you have a winner.

Debbie I just bought EQ 7 too. I'm signed up for the beginner class on QU next month. Can't wait to start. I need to take the time just to sit and play with it before then. I would like to make a quilt of my own design for the "Little Beauties" I received yesterday but if I can't wait that long I'll probably make Edyta's medallion quilt from the cover of her book.
Donna, I love both your designs but I think I'm leaning to the one with the striped border too. When the quilt is done you won't care anyway. It will beautiful and you will love it.
Happy days!
