Debbie, I know what you can do now that all those triangles have "moved out" of your house... how about making a quilt?? I bet you haven't spent nearly enough time at the sewing machine in the last few months!! I'd be going thru withdrawals!! The work that you and Clara have put into this is amazing!!

I've used EQ5 & EQ6, I'm sure also barely using all of its capabilities but I definitely enjoy it, no idea about photoshop... but Margo I love the visual I got when I read about the "nearly nekkid paper-dolls"!!

Here is the nearly nekked paper doll that we started with in the Photoshop Elements class, and how she looked after one of the first lessons!

:) This is a question for those of you who have EQ7: I bought EQ5 when we were in the midst of closing down our business and didn't have much time to learn to use it. Would it be best to just skip it and upgrade to EQ7? I've read mixed reviews about it being not as user friendly, but the newer features sound wonderful! I would love to be able to draw my Sue's and the guys on the computer than on paper, but I don't want to spend months learning how to do it! I'm open to any thots. Thanx!

Shirley, I'm using EQ6 and love it, even though I probably only use it to about 20% of it's capabilities! I need more bonding time, too!

However, I do have a suggestion for you. Learn EQ for your layout, but you might want to consider using Photoshop to design your Sues and guys. Maybe EQ will do it, but the ability to create separate layers in PS would be perfect for designing your costumes. You could start with the same basic shape (if you wanted to) like a nearly nekked paper doll, and dress each one with layers that are easily changed and/or completely removed. I use PS Elements software that came with my Wacom Bamboo tablet, so it's drawing with a pen-like stylus instead of trying to draw with a mouse. I'm lovin' in!! I took an on-line class through the Quilt Whisperer to learn PS and she will be offering another one this summer. http://www.quiltwhisper.com/forum/index.php?sid=3c3b4ef1a7fe89119fdb5d3ebba7ac54

In the meantime, her is the tablet that I'm using: http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/BambooTablets.aspx

Sisters! What a wealth of information you've been today. I never heard of the Bamboo thing until today and I went to the web site. I love it and gotta have it. I'm also going to check out the web site for PS. Sooo much to learn, so little time. And then there's quilting. I'll never go back to work at this rate. Like I said before, there's so much fun to be had on this forum. Love you all!

I received my HST's today. Thank you Debbie, Clara, Margo and all of the rest of you who participated! I've already counted them and put them away for a rest after their long journey. I did glance at the names as I was counting and recognized many of them, and unless I miscounted I was only 1 short and the Golden Tickets more than made up for that. I've been rethinking the project I am going to make with these. I have an old quilt from my grandmother that I would like to remake. It is very worn and looks like the ones we used to use to wrap furniture when moving or take on a camping trip to the mountains. This is the only quilt I received from the older generation of quilters in my family or anyone for that matter. And that's because it was so worn nobody else wanted it. I'm the one who makes the quilts to give to everybody. It won't be an exact reproduction as the blocks will be smaller and it will be more scrappy. And the blank squares will be great for quilting cities, states, and countries on if my longarm quilter is able to do that for me. If not I may have to learn how to use my embroidery machine. There are 48 blocks so I will have just enough HST's plus a few extra to put in the corners of a border that I will add to make it larger.

OK, so how do I delete this duplicate message?

Sorry! It can only be deleted by Guru Bob! Don't worry about it sewbee2! We've all done it! :D

I am able to go into my posts on this forum and edit. There is an edit button above your own post. Even if you can't delete it completely you can delete the content. Then hit submit again just like you do when posting originally.
WAIT! There is an X next to Edit that deletes your post. Try it.

The "X" is only active until the next comment is posted! So.... if you want to delete it, you need to do it before someone else submits a comment!

 Debbie, help me understand what the meaning is for the cute red heart with the plus sign and how you use it to find things. Lissette's idea about adding a LIKE button is a good one. My experience on TQS and this Forum are totally new for me so I'm still navigating around (much more easily), but I want to understand what some of the symbols mean too. Or just tell me where I can find this out on TQS. Thanx much. :D [/quote]

Shirley, I am also new to understanding and using all the bells and whistles at this TQS site, especially on the Forum. I just added you to my favorites with the hope that we might meet in the future. My daughter used to live in Happy Valley and a few years ago while visiting her I think I was in Gresham on one of your Shop Hop days. Daughter now lives in Milwaukie so I will be there again! Thanks to this exchange, my first, I feel like I have a whole new circle of wonderful friends :D :D Glad you put up a picture, it's nice to put a face with all the comments.

OK, I hit the Submit button but this message is still here, told you I was new at this. Hitting submit again, twice is better than none at all

No, thanks! Those we have plenty of, especially of the fire variety!:-(

Isn't it amazing that humans drown when exposed to too much water but ants simple migrate to dry space! We have the same problem in FL when we get too much rain! Butwe alos have fire ants here and they aren't pleasant! I'll keep praying for rain for Texas both to put out fires and help the crops grow!
Sirley you have a nice profile picture!

I received my package yesterday but only had time to open it and take a quick peek! Thank you to all who made the triangles and especially to the sorters and handlers! Janet P.
