My HSTs were in my mailbox today!!! I went through them to get a count and mine are close to Right On. I didn't count the number of states, but about 50 of them are from several countries outside the US. They are all great. I watched Margo pressing. Will get to that after the Easter holiday. I've been cleaning and now I have to look for Edyta's book. Thanks everyone. :P

Woohoo!! They came today! :D Thank you so much to Debbie, Clara and all the sorting, packaging, mailing helpers! What an experience this has been. This is my first exchange and it has been a blast from making the hst's, to reading all the posts, to receiving my hst's. Now on to deciding on a pattern. One of these days I'll get a profile pic up. I have a new computer and I'm not very techy, don't even have pics on the computer yet. But soon. Looking forward to seeing pics of what everyone does with their hst's!

My babies arrived safe and sound today.

Thank you to Debbie and Clara and to all of you lovely people that participated.
Now I will follow Margo's instructions on pressing. I usually don't park the iron on one while I go to the next HST, but I'll give it a try.

This thread (and entire site) makes me so happy! I have not yet received my HSTs (although they may be sitting at my PO right now - it is closed and the package won't fit in my po box) but I am living vicariously through all your posts. I do have to say that I took a close look at the pictures that have been posted, and have seen at least ONE of the HSTs I sent in. What a thrill! :)
Two comments:
1) I have several times wished there were a "LIKE" button... please, that would be wonderful!! and
2) I have EQ7 (great) and I took the QU (Quilt University) classes for EQ6 and they were outstanding. The exercises were extraordinary, and you can print out all the lessons, and save the pertinent comments from the forum in a printable document. I (like many others) do not use nearly all of the capabilities of EQ, but I refer to the QU lessons often when I do use it. If I finally get around to it ( ) I will post the design I am working on for my yet-to-arrive HSTs!

BarbaraAnne, I'm sure there are others, but I took a 3 week basic class through the Quilt Whisperer web site. They will be offering it again this summer.

They're here, they're here, they're finally here! Woo hoo! Can you tell I'm excited? I haven't sorted them yet. I will do that on Tueday when my good friend and teaching partner and I meet. She was out of town when I discovered the exchange on the deadline day, so I sent in twice as many so that we could both share the wealth.
Now I have to get busy and design a quilt to use all of the beautiful triangles in. We have also started triangle exchanges with the two guilds that we belong to and with one of our long term quilting classes. We hope to continue those exchanges for about six months. We added many guide lines to those exchanges to make it more manageable for us.
Debbie, Clara and all of the sorting Angels, thank you so much for taking on this monumental exchange. It is the first time that I have participated in an exchange and followed a forum. I have throughly enjoyed it, from picking the fabric, completing the triangles and all of the anticipation. Ladies you have once again shown the generosity that quilters are known for. May all of the SoTTT sisters and brothers have a blessed Easter.

NOW PLAYING ON YOUR DAILY BLOG!!!!

Has anyone had a chance to watch Margo's video on today's Daily Blog? You'll need to scroll down a few articles to find it. She shows us the correct way to press our HSTs open and then remove the papers so they don't become distorted. Very, very helpful...thank you, Margo!

Great idea about the 'like' button. Why don't you send that to TQS as a suggestion? I suggested that they to add a Favorites Button on shows, lessons, etc. so we could save them. I used to have to write down where something was when I knew I wanted to find it again and I thought the 'Favorites' button could be helpful. They listened to the suggestion, added a cute red heart with a plus sign to many features, and they did it in less than a week! How's that for caring about the TQS community?

 Debbie, help me understand what the meaning is for the cute red heart with the plus sign and how you use it to find things. Lissette's idea about adding a LIKE button is a good one. My experience on TQS and this Forum are totally new for me so I'm still navigating around (much more easily), but I want to understand what some of the symbols mean too. Or just tell me where I can find this out on TQS. Thanx much. :D [/quote]

Shirley, the 'favorites' button is a cute little red heart with a plus sign inside of it. If you go to the Daily Blog page, right at the top right of the first blog, you'll see one. If you click on it, it will add it to 'Your Favorites'. To then see your list of 'Your Favorites', go to 'My Account' at the far right on the Navigation Bar. You'll see 'My Favorites' in the drop down menu. When you pick that it will show you a list of shows, blogs, quilts, lessons, etc. that you want to be able to watch or look at again. You'll just click on the what you want to see again and it will take you right to that article, show or whatever. I like to use it for shows I know I'll want to watch a second time, like Edyta's segment. Try it and see how you like it!

I'm still learning about the Forum myself, so you and I probably know about the same amount about that!

Woo Hoo!  They came! They came! Dana, my daughter in the picture at the sewing machine, helped me sort them by state and country. 45 states and 7 countries. I did get one of mine back but it was a happy surprise! :D Funny thing is, I have a bunch that weren't labeled, and boy is my imagination having fun with those places. It was soo much fun reading the source locations on them and recognizing names and faces. Now to catch my breath and take my time pressing them open. Ohh, the wonder that awaits!

@Karen, thank you for your kind comment. She really is surprising

I was thrilled to find a package waiting for me on the kitchen table so I tore it open and started sorting. I was thrilled to find out that I have HST from 38 states, Austrialia, Canada and the Netherlands! I didn't even get one of my own. Thank you for all of your hard work -- it is very much appreciated!

Debbie, I know what you can do now that all those triangles have "moved out" of your house... how about making a quilt?? I bet you haven't spent nearly enough time at the sewing machine in the last few months!! I'd be going thru withdrawals!! The work that you and Clara have put into this is amazing!!

I've used EQ5 & EQ6, I'm sure also barely using all of its capabilities but I definitely enjoy it, no idea about photoshop... but Margo I love the visual I got when I read about the "nearly nekkid paper-dolls"!!

Florence in Fredericksburg (VA not TX!!)

Great idea, Florence. I'm actually going to finish a birthday quilt for my daughter whose birthday was a month ago. Good thing she has lots of patience! And I'm going to start on my TQS BOM. I asked for the fabric kit for Christmas and because they were ready until January, it came in about the time the exchange took off. I'm still putting that off a little because I'm afraid to cut into the beautiful fabrics.

My sewing machine hasn't been turned on for three months now...sure hope it still remembers how to sew and I hope that I remember how to sew, too.

Shirley, I am also new to understanding and using all the bells and whistles at this TQS site, especially on the Forum. I just added you to my favorites with the hope that we might meet in the future. My daughter used to live in Happy Valley and a few years ago while visiting her I think I was in Gresham on one of your Shop Hop days. Daughter now lives in Milwaukie so I will be there again! Thanks to this exchange, my first, I feel like I have a whole new circle of wonderful friends :D :D Glad you put up a picture, it's nice to put a face with all the comments.

:D This Forum just keeps getting better and better every day! 8) Barbara Anne, I would love to meet with you someday and talk with my SoTTT sister! What fun this is!
