unfortunately i'll not be able to make it to that show in the next few years - unless the move the date considerably
it's just 2 weeks before my largest show of the year (from my actually paying for my hobbies, living, funning, etc full time job...)
and at that show i'm supposed to be responsible for the complete set-up, organization and show of 250 square meters of medical devices and over 100 staff members from the world-wide sales-network attending - guess i'll have to win the lottery and retire early...
BUT - and what a great BUT this is:
I HAVE JUST PUT IN MY VACATION FOR JUNE 2012
to attend the International Quilt Show in Galway, Ireland
now all i have to do - is choose & sign up for a class or two and book a place to stay

Clara, I'm going to sound like an echo and a parrot, but words cannot convey how grateful we all are for what you, Debbie, and other volunteers continue to do for us until this wonderful, Mt. Everest-type project is finished. All of you have been so generous with your time and energy! I'm going to sit and pet my HST's all day long when I get them! Can't wait to get my hands on those little suckers!

WOW - but then, they are often not so used to large numbers of packages to various different destinations at the smaller post offices
when i was at the post office in st. albans, vermont to ship choccies & HSTs to debbie in texas for the sorting, strips with two return shipment flat rate boxes pre-stamped for shipping to switzerland to barbara in texas for the sensational strippers exchange, and 2 large flat-rate boxes of fabrics i had just purchased to myself in switzerland - they were royally confused - the main problem being that they could not get their mind around the fact that the two unused flat-rate-boxes for the return shipments should have US stamps on them if they are eventually going to switzerland... quite a few unhappy people in line behind me... but we all got there in the end
and my boxes of fabric have arrived in switzerland before me and i'm now busy busy busy washing and ironing - keeping me very busy till those lovely HSTs get here too
have just fabricated a tripple layer design wall so that i can play with the strippers-strip, the SOTTT HSTs and my fabric mosaic quilt i am planning for my niece all at the same time (well - without having to clear one project away in order to work on another in between)

- and now another weekend sorting and packing THANK YOU for your perseverance - we truly are GRATEFUL

I have completed the first wave of shipping yesterday and figured I would buckle down and get busy sorting. I have a huge tote staring at me filled with tons of these HSTs. Worked till midnight last night. Today, I decided to just do this all day today and through the weekend. Make a big dent. I found a HST on my floor (right where I was working) this morning. It was one of mine. What are the odds of that! I've got the Harry Potter series running. Figured it was appropriate. Besides I can wrap up the marathon by watching the latest release.

My big yellow package arrived in the mail today. The postal clerk said, "to you, from you???" and I nearly jumped for joy. SO SO SO happy my babies arrived safely. Thanks to everyone. Feelin' the love!!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who worked on this exchange. This is the first one I've every joined and have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the posts--I don't spend a lot of time online so haven't always kept up although did check in every few days or so. The pictures are a treat for those of us who couldn't be a part of the sorting process. And those Hats I actually said out loud "OMG" when I saw them. I always knew quilters were creative but this has gone way beyond what was imagined. You sisters/brothers are astounding.

OMG! This is going to be sewwwwwwwww much fun I almost can't stand it! C'mon, SoTTT quilters, this is your chance to help me make you into Quilt Divas of the International (and national!) Sunbonnet Sue and Ricky set!

Great ideas, Margo! (And thank you for offering to make 1"x1" background squares. I'll get my thinking cap on for that idea!) ...And an emphatic, "YES, I would l-o-v-e to hear how our International Sue SoTTT sisters would like to be dressed!" What fun this is going to be! After all this sharing and bantering back and forth, these "Sue's and Ricky and the Guys" blocks might become larger individual wall hangings.
