I don't think anyone could have imagined this would become so big in January! Thanks for all that each of you has done to make it so much fun! I just booked a room for Houston, it will be my first time, so I am really excited.

You are going to LOVE the Houston Show. Be prepared. Bring major comfy shoes. This place is bigger than you think. I think someone mentioned 11 football fields, but I think they were being nice. You can take pictures of the quilts, but not the special collection quilts. The vendors. Well, lets just say... start saving some money. It is a minimum of a 2 day event! If you can spare more than great. You will have a blast.
Hope to see you. Clara :D :D :D

See, Clara! That's where the SoTTT exchange gotcha! It's your sense of scale, my friend!

The Houston show is 11 football fields on the first floor, but the event takes over all THREE FLOORS of the convention center!!
And 2 days is barely enough time to see all of the quilts. You need at least another 2 days to walk (briskly?) by all the vendors!!

Yep!! Definitely wear comfortable shoes!!! :D

That would be so awesome! I'll put in an order for at least 14 inches spread out over a month and a half. It would need to soak in and not run off. Clara :D :D :D

one of my guardian angels (hanging in the living room window) just came flying, or rather crashing, taking a blue glass bottle with her - luckily not one of the antique ones - i guess she's still earning her wings

Clara,
Thumbs up with lotti, you ROCK and ROLL. Look as your working your fingers to the bone.
I am jealous if your are watching the final episode of Harry Potter. Can't wait to see
it. Are you in the drought part of TX ?. Hope everyone has a grand weekend. :)
Unfortunately I think every part of Texas is in a drought. We have a large pond (what we call tank) for the horses and it is bone dry. Yes, we are in dangerous need of some rain, and some more rain, and more.

Nope, not watching the latest one yet, but I did just pick it up when I picked up the boys from school. I figured I would be sorting enough this whole weekend to go through the series. Sorcerer's Stone is complete. Time to run the second one. They are great to have on in the background. Partial distraction from the endless counting. Got to put away the groceries, get dinner started and back to it. Clara :D :D :D

have just started a Forum for
the 2012 International Quilt Show in Galway, Ireland NEXT (not this - NEXT) June!

Would be great if the "local" (meaning all those attending - from wherever they are) TQSrs, SOTTTs, Strippers, Potholders, Batikers, etc. could meet up in Galway in June 2012 !!!

have taken a lesson from Debbie and reserved the first few blogs for updates / whatever we might find useful as we go along

just as an incentive to visit this wonderful island, i am adding a few very very very old pictures from my very first visit to ireland (sorry these are scanned old pictures) back in 1996...

Lotti,
My daughter is going to Ireland next year to celebrate a wedding aniversary. It would be cool if she could be there in June. I went four years ago and lost all my pictures when my computer crashed and I hadn't backed it up. You are correct, it is a wonderful island.

Ireland is always worth a visit - and yes - the 1996 trip was followed by a more in-depth hiking trip a few years later - another visit is LONG overdue !!!
