PACKAGE AND HST COUNTS ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9:

314 PACKAGES CONTAINING 126,390 HTSs - We're more than halfway there ! ! !

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I'm repeating the packaging and mailing information from Page 50, so if you haven't had a chance to read it yet, here it is again --Please review it before you pack up your HSTs to mail

Sisterhood members...with more than half our packages remaining to be mailed, there's still time to provide a helpful photo tip on packaging your HST's.

In a post a couple of days ago, I mentioned that we would prefer that you DO NOT put your HSTs into individual baggies inside the larger bag since I have to take them out anyway before sorting day. As I was going through the packages I've already received taking the HST's out of the small bags, I came across this package and I thought I'd share the 'perfect' packing with you. There are 504 HST's and they were beautifully packed into a one-gallon Ziplock (with no smaller baggies) :D :D :D . Absolutely nothing needs to be done with this prior to sorting day :D :D .

If you're not sending in 504, you can still do something similar with a one-quart size. If you're sending in more than 503, there's probably still room for more in the gallon bag, but you could always use a second quart bag for the excess. Because they are so neatly packaged, the corners & tips are will also remain nice and flat and not bent & turned like some I've received that had not been carefully packed.

It's also NOT necessary to sort them by color or count since that won't have any signifigance on sort day. It is also NOT necessary to open & press one HST to show its 'true' colors. Those opened HSTs are going right in with the folded ones, and that will possibly cause them to be wrinkled and it will also complicate the distribution process. And please don't tape anything closed except for your mailing envelope. Taking that tape off takes time and if your internal bag is closed carefully and your envelope taped carefully, you shouldn't need tape anywhere else.

TA DA   !!!! Here's the perfect package to strive for if you haven't mailed your package yet. All of us on sorting day will be eternally grateful if you can make your package look like this one. Thanks, Susmcc, :D for providing the perfect example for all the SoTTT's! It couldn't have done it better even if we had hired a professional organization guru!

The flat rate envelopes have actually been doing fine and the glue on those are very, very strong...sometimes I even have trouble getting them open! It's the manila and paper ones that have had the problems. I don't want to worry people unnecessarily, but I'd rather we all be safe than sorry.

:!: :!: MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTTENTION PLEASE :!: :!:

Based on a package I received today, I wanted to reiterate the importance of making sure your mailing envelope is securely closed and taped shut. This package was an International package that contained 616 HSTs...by the time it arrived at my P.O. Box, the envelope had opened completely and two packages (56 in each) had been :( lost  somewhere during the delivery process. Since it was wide open, it was fortunate that not more than two packages had fallen out. THE SENDER OF THIS PACKAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN NOTIFIED, SO IF YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM ME, THEN IT WASN'T YOUR PACKAGE  !

So, please, don't trust the sealing system on whatever type envelope you might be using...just tape, tape, and triple tape. Also, use nylon or packing tape rather than just Scotch tape. An envelope from yesterday had that Invisible Scotch Tape on it and it had not sealed at at all, but fortunately the sticky on the envelope came through.

Another reminder for International members, do not send me an addressed envelope...only send an address label (or two if you will receive more than one small Flat Rate box). We cannot use those envelopes in the return process so it will eventually be recycled  . It is also very important that you correctly estimate how many flat rate boxes will be needed and charge that amount to PayPal. The information on how many HST's fit into a flat rate box is written in the 2nd post on the 1st page of this Forum.

You will also need to include a copy of your PayPal receipt in your envelope so I will know your return postage has been taken care of.

We've been very fortunate up to now with packages that have opened or torn during shipping, that no HST's have gone missing. This is supposed to be a lot of fun for all of us, but it's no fun if someone has to be notified that there package arrived incomplete.

Thank you :D for help in making sure your packages are closed securely...

Debbie
