If I read correctly - those were 1" blocks made from 1 1/2" HSTs --- the 2" ones will be a little larger!

Bev,

Why don't you get a local group together, like your Guild, Bee or your quilting friends, to do an exchange so you'll get more HSTs.

The HSTs we are exchanging finish 2" x 2", so it takes 10 rows and 10 columns to make a 20" x 20" finished block.

You could always make some more to add borders etc. now you know how quick & easy it is to make a few more in different combinations. :)

Margo--I like your little block. I did something similar in years gone by but as my HST designs recently have been Churn Dash or Wandering (Friendship) Star I couldn't seem to see beyond single blocks. A similar idea, perhaps with an added applique border could be my answer to a bunch of HST that are in abeyance. It would mean a bunch of frogging (reverse sewing) but I guess I can handle that. There are some wonderful ideas showing up so I could be changing my mind before I get to the project.

Margo, your block is so pretty. Great idea for using the friendship triangles.

I too have no real idea - except I love Margo's applique in her project and will be including something similar in the border.. I also know where the quilt is going to hang. Our house is 2 level with internal stairs with two very long flat walls on either side. I have often thought I would make a quilt for the wall, but the inspiration has never occurred. Well at least, I have always been too busy making everyone else's quilts.. This one is for me and will live on that wall reminding me of the friends I have made through TQS across the world.

A small group that I belong to has started exchanging HSTs also! Last week we traded our first set, and I thought you might like to see what I did with 100 of the first ones I've received. This block is 20" x 20" finished size.

I am leaning towards the Garden Path in Edyta's book. I want to wait until I see the HSTs before final decision. All the designs are beautiful. Grandbabies are here. Gotta go.

I ordered one of Edyta's books and I can't wait to decide on a pattern!
