Maybe everyone has already seen this - but I just looked at Alex Anderson's web profile and she has a neat scrappy nine patch that uses lots and lots of HSTs. It's worth a peek. (I only found out that she actually has a profile)

This quilt is my version of Alex's Scrappy Nine Patch. The pattern and directions are in her book: Finish It available here:

(The glowing effect in the borders is achieved by using a gradated fabric with light in the middle and dark at the corners.)

Thanks Margo - I wasn't sure how to tell people to take a look at it, but there you go!! Poof! It appears! I think I have just experienced some MARGO MAGIC.

:D Hi, Everyone!
When I read that Edyta, Alex, and Ricky were joining in the fun, I immediately thought of 3 Sunbonnet Sue's (one each to represent Edyta, Alex, and all other sister quilters) and one Overall Ricky (to respresent Ricky and our brother quilters) all dressed up in their respective triangle dresses/overalls. They would be set like Edyta's Medallion quilt complete with hands holding each other to respresent the international friendship. (Possibly one Sun Bonnet Sue and one Overall Ricky would do the design well too.) Then, again, I might consider a beautiful, giant angel made from the triangles. I also like the above Ocean Waves idea.

I never liked the idea of partitioning and would love to hear how you like Quilt Pro. Maybe we need another FORUM topic for us MAC users, or is there one out there that I just haven't found?

I started a new topic for Quilt Pro here forum/this-and-that-quilting-related/4402-are-there-any-quilt-pro-software-users-out-there

Anyone have a good program for designing on a mac?

I just ordered Quilt Pro for Macs http://www.quiltpro.com/go.php?id=qp5mac_features. I'm expecting it to arrive any day. I have used EQ on my previous Mac by partitioning the hard drive to run Windows so I could use Windows programs. I have the latest version of EQ but I haven't installed it yet. I would much rather use a Mac-friendly program so I decided to try Quilt Pro.

I was thinking of Ocean Waves and using the Stripper Strips in the solid triangles (making them smaller) but am not really sure yet----
There are sooo many great ideas here making it difficult to decide!!!! Mona 80 from New Hampshire

Wow! I really like both Carol and Margo's design ideas for using our HST...now I really have to put my creative mind to work....so excited to see what we get in return for our HST sent in...and Carol I think I will follow your example and start making more of my own so I will be able to start right in when receiving our return packages...since I only sent in 476...I know I will be needing more...Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I don't know Macs but surely they have some drawing/design programs available? I've always been led to believe they were better than Windows for graphics. If you have a graphics program that you can draw or up load graph paper, you could achieve basic pattern designing.

Here are some of my tries....

Then with copy and pasting go and play with what you have got, think sideways if you cannot go straight forward :)
