I must be really dense today, I'm trying to follow Margo's instruction for uploading an image from EQ6, and I'm not even seeing anything that says "place in line"... any hints?
And while I'm asking, I have an EQ question, maybe this is possible in 6 or maybe added in 7, but is there any way to have it randomly place colors, perhaps limited as "light, med. or dark" rather than have to pick every fabric for a scrappy look when designing?
Thanks,
I just looked at my color buttons in EQ7: It's the same in EQ6 too.
Paint brush just colors one piece at a time.
Paint brush plus CTRL key, colors the selected piece in each block in the quilt. If you have more than one block pattern, it only colors the pieces in the block you're working on.
Spray can colors all of that color in your selected block.
Spray can plus CTRL kay, does this for the entire quilt in every block like the block you are working on.
The swap colors key replaces each instance of the color you click on in the quilt, with the selected color. It's different from spray can Plus CTRL because swap colors works for all blocks, borders, etc.
Random recolor just globally swaps one color for another. If there were two colors in the original quilt, there will still be only 2 colors
after random recolor. If there were 10 colors, there will be 10 new colors in the quilt after using it.
So, you could replace a color with a different value color within one block without clicking on each piece. To change on a piece by piece basis, you have to do it piece by piece, either when coloring blocks for the sketchbook, or when in the quilt.
Hopefully this answers your question without making things more confusing!
