I have several bright batiks. I am looking for neautral batiks also. This sounds so fun :D :D

Welcome Susan. OK ladies, I have spent all morning online (after failing to find any in the area) looking for cream batiks and what I have found is that they all have different colors in with them. So, I just want you to be aware of that. Also, this leads me to the conclusion that if you want to use a cream/white/beige fabric that is not batik--go for it.

Ritzy, I would love to join you in the Batik/Cream HST Exchange. I just completed a project this month and was surprised that I could find 16 light batiks in my stash under my dining room table. I know I have a lot more in the boxes in my living room. Yes, I have taken over the common area of my house. My family, friends and neighbors get to be in the middle of my creativity.

OK, if I have my count right(did a database this morning) we have 16 members wanting to be in the batiks with cream/white/beige on one side. That represents 10 states in the USA and one each from Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. I will keep watching this post and let you know when we are ready to go. In the mean time, if you will send me you email address I will send you my snail mail address. Thanks ladies (no guys joining us--yet).

When it comes to shopping online for batiks (of course we look at our LQS first), this is my favorite:

Treat yourself :) She has colorways that are exclusive to her shop. Her prices are very reasonable, the quality is excellent, and I believe she is still offering free postage on orders over $30. DEAL! Grab a cuppa and look through her amazing selection; quite the treat.

That sounds like a great idea. I am still looking for cream batiks around this area. So, far I have been unsuccessful. I will get online tomorrow and see what I can find there. Brights will be great.

Count me in. I would love to do a batik with cream. I have a couple of cream batiks. Can we use brights with the cream? and supply them in lots of 8 in the same colour? that way you can make star points out of the same colour ways.
Thanks for organising this Ritzy.

After the Sisterhood HST exchange is over, I'd be interested in a strip exchange that could be used to make several of the quilts in Edyta's book, Friendship Strips & Scraps, including the Farmhouse Quilt and the Spool Quilt. And batiks would be beautiful for that exchange.

I would also love to do a strip exchange! Especially for those two quilts!

Ladies, I think a strip exchange would be wonderful (after the Sisterhood HST exchange, of course). Who doesn't have plenty of strips lying around. Like you two, I think the spool quilt and farmhouse quilts are adorable! Will have to add some applique though - can't help it... I just ordered Edyta's Friendship Strips & Scraps book. It just looked like too much fun.

Ritzy, I would like to join the Batiks/cream exchange, as well.

Rosemary

I would also be interested in the stripy exchange when it happens.
