TOPIC: SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES EXCHANGE

Re: SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES EXCHANGE 23 Jan 2011 14:52 #54539

Drum Roll Please.......

We are now at 270 quilters on this grand adventure. Let me see if I can get all the countries so far.

USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands, South Korea (hoping she will confirm here) and Australia.

Still just too cool. Reminder for anyone new. Guidelines are on page one of this forum and the video that is running this month on the Quilt Show has excellent instructions on these very HST and amazing samples. Great for inspiration as you can truly see by 270 QUILTERS!!!!

Happy Sewing everyone.

Jane, you stole my thunder! :) I just discovered I had some Avery labels as you identified, and they work great for this purpose....I will put them on after all pressing is done, so as not to worry about the adhesive issue. Love it when a plan comes together, with a lot of help from our friends! Nancy

I had to take a break in writing on my triangles. I only have 196 more to do. Yippeeeee!!!!! Then the 700 will be on their way to Debbie on Monday. I made a post when ARJJ were getting ready to go on their trip to Africa and I mentioned that when the bosses are away the mice are going to play. We are really having a great time playing with this one!!!! I just hope we don't bring down the TQS server with all the activity that is going on here. It is so fun to see the numbers growing!!!!!

Excellent information about shipping, Ellen. Thanks so much for sharing this, I know it's going to be extremely helpful. Edyta's show is awesome and watching it again (and again) will help clear up a lot of questions. We now have members from seven countries, and hopefully even more will join.

Happy stitching to everyone!

I can't wait to get my papers and start! This morning I went through my fat quarters and chose the ones I want to use. They're ready and waiting. I'll definitely mark the papers before sewing and am looking forward to making bunches of them.

If you haven't had a chance to watch episode 802 where Edyta shows her quilts made from the HST's in an exchange like this yet, make sure you do. This whole thing makes so much more sense, and her quilts are awesome! And I had also noticed that many of our friends who are responding to this are posting for the first time. This is really something that will bring us closer together. Welcome to all of you!

Being a librarian, I had to research the topic of IRC's for our overseas friends. "International Reply Coupons" (IRC's) were created in 1906 by the Universal Postal Union to allow people to send letters and postage for a reply to other countries. This website tells a bit about it and also contains a list of countries who honor the coupons. http://www.upu.int/en/activities/international-reply-coupons/about-irc.html For the amount you would need to purchase, contact your local post office.
