Hi everyone!
I am so excited about the exchange! I am leaving tomorrow on a quilting cruise and my suitcases are packed with fabric and papers to make triangles for the exchange. I can't wait to send mine in and see all of the fun fabrics that I get get back from everyone - I'm already dreaming of what quilt I can make from them...

Here is the big number you have been waiting for. We have 615 quilters involved in this exchange. Can you believe it?!

Here is more numbers on the countries involved. 66 Quilters joining us from USA, Canada (22), UK (6), Ireland (1), Scotland (1), Finland (1), Norway (1), the Netherlands (2), Australia (27), Panama (1), South Korea (1), New Zealand (1), Germany (1) and now Switzerland (1).

The numbers for the all the countries do not add up. If you add up the numbers of the quilters from each country is adds to only 132. Am I missing a number here. Possibly the number of the USA quilters is wrong.
That would be me typing under not a lot of sleep. I meant to start a new sentence with "Quilters from USA....etc." That's what you get for staying up too late. Ooops. Thanks. Margo caught me too. Clara :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Today when I was reviewing guidelines and also ordering my paper for the triangles, I noticed a reference that some people may have signed up under the wrong subject. I thought I had sent a comment to the Sisterhood of Traveling Triangles. I am planning to participate but didn't find my comment in your pages 24-26 Jan.

I am so excited about this!!! Have been wanting to do an exchange for a long time!!! I only live about 2 1/2 hours from Houston. I would be happy to help with the sorting if you need another pair of hands! Let me know! Love the idea about printing the info from the HST's on fabric and using it either in the quilt or as a label!!!! I am going to do that too! Working on HST's this weekend!

Margaret and other quilters. (some I have already responded to via personal email)
If you are interested in participating in the sorting, which will be in the Houston area mid April. Post that you are interested and I will put you on another list. I seem to be the queen of lists lately. We kinda have to the mass we are dealing with and how best to tackle it, so I won't have enough to tell you now. We do know how we are going to sort (so, don't worry about that and NO I won't pull out the cement mixer no matter how tempting.). Basically, if you want to help, Great. Post it and we will note it. Let you know more details later. This is going to be a cool adventure.

WHAT???

I think she is referring to the challenge to clean our studios. Would hoovering be the Hoover Vacuum? Funny.

I knew that hoovering meant the vacuum... I meant "what? blame me???"

She best be careful...I haven't decided on tomorrow's challenge yet, and she's giving me ideas!!

Which flat rate box did you use Carol? There is a little one that ships for $5.20 and several larger sizes as well as some envelopes.

Could the first person to find out how many HST's will pack into the small flat rate box, please sing out and let us know, as this would help us international members to try and sort out the cheapest way of arranging to pay for the postage, as the latest I have heard is that it could cost us about £28 - about $45 which is seriously ouch for a $13.95 stamp

I am wondering if it might be possible to combine parcels here in the UK to reduce the cost to/from USA?

Re: SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES EXCHANGE 27 Jan 2011 12:22 #55401

:D Hey Quilt Sisters, I just thot of an easy way to identify "every" triangle so we know where they all came from. I don't know about you, but I have a "bazillion" self-adhesive "free" address labels that were sent from charities who want a donation...and they "fit perfectly" into the triangle space! Some might need a little trim, but hey...no writing involved...and it's all legible!

Big bear hugs to Edyta, Alex, Ricky, the TQS staff, and all of you participants! This is going to be so much phun, I think I've died and gone to heaven!!! This is a wonderful, extraordinary example of how the Internet can be used for positive communication among people from various cultures to connect and share a common love they have such as quiltmaking. The caring, sharing, creative thinking, and giving is fantastic, and I personally am deliriously happy to be a part of this world wide web project!

Sharing in your passion for quilting, I'm Shirley Forster, 395 SW 6th St, Gresham, Oregon, USA.

I got my papers today! That was super quick! I ordered from Laundry Basket Quilts on Saturday and recieved papers on Thursday here in Finland (in Europe right next to Sweden... )
Fabrics are on their way to me also, so soon I can get sewing!
Thank You djane for instruction (on page 63 on this thread) on using Usps Ship-n-Click for International return postage! I managed to create account for me, and played a bit on creating a label to return envelope. I think only problem was choosing mailing date. There was only four options: today or three days from today. And you had to pick one of those. I could not find option to leave mailing date open. Otherwise, I could have just payed and printed the label.
