TOPIC: SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES EXCHANGE

Re: SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES EXCHANGE 20 Jan 2011 13:26 #53965

I would love to be part of the exchange. Batik HST's are the best when you have lots of variety. I love it.

Bring on the guys. Would love to have some male quilters join us.

I'm planning on turning in all batiks. There are a few that are concerned if they are going to get batiks back. The more of us turn in batiks the more HST that will be available for sorting and sending back. You might get some prints too. If you don't want to use the prints for this project, hang on to them, they might be perfect for another. There are a lot of prints that register to the eye similar to batiks as well. I'm looking forward to the surprise, and will use a lot of handdyed fabrics to help anchor everything together for me.

Debbie, I should be on the list already, but if not, please add. I definitely want to participate. I have ordered Edyta's HST papers and plan to contribute 4 sheets worth for our exchange. I am really looking forward to this and cannot wait to see what goodies arrive in the mail this April!

Batiks? 20 Jan 2011 10:30 #53947

I must have missed the change that the exchange is now not just batiks, but prints too. I just re-read the guidelines and see that it clearly says that. I thought it was to be primarily batiks but prints could also be used with the batiks--it is hard to find many very light batiks so using light prints with batiks makes sense.

If we send batiks will we get batiks in return?

Count me in too! I will order papers from Edyta, (I am able to order them in about two weeks, hope she will have them). I don't know how many HST's I will send and how is that return envelope going to be. I will have to ask post office. I had an idea of using local fabric, but realized our local fabrics (that I am familiar with) are heavier weight (think Marimekko) than quilt fabrics. So I will expand my idea, and think of Europe as my local...
Forgot to say: I am from Finland, you already guessed.
