OK, I guess I am having a senior moment. Are we doing batiks on one half and a print on the other half? Please, forgive my fogginess, I fell and bumped my head. While that is true--I think I was confused before. Thanks, ritzy
Debbie and/or Clara, please correct me if I'm wrong, but it was my understanding that we should use a batik OR print OR solid OR tone-on-tone in a med/dark value and pair it with a batik OR print OR solid OR tone-on-tone in a light value for the other half.
I think that at this point there will be so many fabrics involved that it doesn't matter what kind of design it has as long as the color value is right. Those who are looking for a more fabric specific trade (instead of - or in addition to - this one!) should get together on this forum topic: forum/friendship-triangle-exchange/4251-specific-fabric-exchanges
The main thing is a light fabric and a med/dark fabric. Batiks, tone-on-tone, prints, hand dyed are all fine as long as they are quilt shop grade fabrics.
We are up to just over 180 quilters!!!!!!! Woo Hoo. I think we might need to rent a cement mixer to mix all these HST that are sent in. JUST KIDDING! There is going to be such a variety that even the quilters sending in huge numbers shouldn't worry about getting many back of their own. Just think of it, if 180 quilters sent in 3 strips totaling 84 HST we'll have 15120 HST. Impressive!
