If you really like a quilt, take a minute to send its creator some good feedback. I always do. Some quilters are even nice enough to reply with a thank you.

don't be shy people!

And don't think it has to be quilts you've MADE, they said earlier it can be quilts you own, and some folks have put up quilted items like handbags or jackets as well. Certainly unquilted tops would "qualify"--

I wonder if many folks aren't posting b/c they don't have a digital camera? If that's the hold-up, I bet someplace like Kinko's would scan regular photos onto a CD or something so they could then be posted... just a thought, Florence

Quilts finally go over 9,000! 03 May 2008 11:43 #17721

It's finally over 9,000 now! Yes, I had been wondering too about the amount not quite getting there and it even dropped a couple last week - I agree with what Florence said.

Wish more people would get their quilts up as someone said earlier with over 28,000 members - you'd think there'd be more - don't be shy people!

Some of those new ones probably were replacements-- if you change a quilt in your profile you want to delete the whole thing & then upload a new one, don't just change the picture and change the text or the quilt then has the same ID # as the previous one. So when we substitute one in our profile, it doesn't change the total # of quilts, but your new one WILL show up at the top of the gallery. Hope this makes sense.

That does make sense, thanks Florence

Could the newly added pictures be replacements for some that had been posted ? Since we only have a limited number of spots, sometimes we'll delete one of ours to add a newer quilt.

ok, what is going on in the quilt gallery. I looked this morning and we were at 8997 quilts in the gallery. I made sure to pay attention to the newest quilt there. I just looked and there are three new quilts and the number hasn't changed. I thought that I had noticed this before but never really paid close attention, but today I did.

I noticed that too, it should be at 9,000. Three more quilts were added today. I woneder if they add them manually or something

We have over 28,000 members. If everyone posted 6 quilts to the gallery we would have 168,000 quilts to look at and someone (ME) would be the proud owner of one of Ricky's quilts.

and remember you can always go in & put a "better" picture in if you just use a snapshot now, or change a quilt altogether Don't wait for perfection!

I second this.......Please add your quilts to the gallery. I have enjoyed looking at all the quilts so much and the search feature is great to be able to find whatever kind of quilt you can imagine. So ask a friend if you can't do it yourself. I took pictures of two of my friends quilts and helped them upload to their profile. :D Happy picture taking :D

The Quilt Gallery just hit 7,000 quilts. Please post your quilts in the gallery so we can win a quilt. We have several more to go to reach the sites goals.
