Or perhaps "view posts since last visit" could be made a default so that it automatically goes to that unless you indicate otherwise??

Suggestion: With rearranging the website, would it be possible to reposition the link to "view posts since last visit" to a more prominent position?

Finding out about that link was a Godsend for me, but I was a member for 3 months before someone in one of the threads pointed it out. If it is repositioned, it may be easier for us newbies to find and then the rest of the content would not have to be rearranged.

What do you think? Bonnie

I don't think that because no one has posted recently in a thread that means it has no value. I've read several that haven't had recent posts and have found them to be of great value to me. As far as I know, it's not possible to see what items have been visited recently.

I vote to leave the forum as is. I'm a relatively new member and found a lot of great information in the old posts....matter of fact, I'm still going through them. It's a great way for the new folks to catch up on all the good stuff offered and probably helps to keep from repeating common questions and reponses that a new member wouldn't know were already discussed. I love the tips....they are timeless.

I'm with Lynn. I'm also comfortable with the thought that I can still access something at a later date because it is still there even if it isn't attracting much attention at the time. IMHO

I am not saying to dump the threads... I am saying to sreamline the categories so things are easier to find.... Old categories.. could be streamlined and be more germaine to what is actually happening on the board.

Anything not posted on in one - two years could fall off and be replaced by categories going on right now.

how did you get the picture of the swan up????

You can easily insert photos onto the board by connecting them to a link. I do believe I heard years ago that the web managers did not want to have links and photos due to the space they take up and the risk of viruses from other connecting sites. Hopefully the web managers will help with this question.

I would just like to "ditto" the previous votes to leave the site alone...all too often I have to go way back to research a thread to reacquaint myself with a process or idea and would be sad if they weren't recoverable in some way.

I'm with Ritzy, Lynn & Dianne and everyone else that want to leave the posts the way they are. I too did not do the 2009 BOM yet but after seeing everyone elses' and how beautiful they are I want to give it a try. Not having access to what has already been written would be a horrible loss. Bobbi

I'm going to add my vote to leave the fourm as it is. I may not be interested in something when every one else is talking about it, but I would like to find that information weeks, months, or even years later, when I do become interested. For example, the 2009 BOM, I haven't started it, but it is something I would like to do eventually, and I would hate to lose all the information that has been given on the different blocks and problems encountered, and have to post the same questions again. Or a new technique that has been shown, I may not be interested at that time, but months later, have a need to learn about it then.

Even if the posts are years old, there is still some very good information there. And the posts that aren't informative, are a great way to get to know the other people on the other side of my computer screen. I belong to a number of other message groups also, and I am always going back into the archives of old messages to find information that I had forgotten about, but knew had been talked about.

When I visit the forum, the icons show me which topics have new postings in them since my last visit, I don't even have to search to find new messages, and I can just select those to read.

I agree with Ritzy too. Sometimes I look for something that I've read here and I would be very disappointed to find it had been deleted. Unless there's a problem with space, I would like to see the Forum left alone.

I just have to say that many times I've gone back to old posts for some nugget of information. I would hate to loose that source.
