I think regional groups would be a great idea. That way, we could post info about local shows, exhibits, meetings, etc. SAQA is a national organization but there are lots of different regions. We're allowed to list a 2nd region in our profile if we want to be included-works out good for snowbirds.

I have been on other forums where there are country 'chapters' as is were too. Perhaps you could start a region thread that you are in and see if you have many others from there to talk with first? (Perhaps by state is a bit too small but you could do east side, west side, central etc.)

At the moment everything UK is lumped into the one UK thread, but at least we know where everything is! It would be good to have a category that we could sub divide a bit though. :D

Sue, the UK quilters are "Ladies in Waiting" at the moment. We are waiting to hear if we can have our own little forum.

Just between me and you (and a few thousand members - vbg), I'm sure some existing forums could be amalgamated because their is hardly any activity. That would then free space for some regional or national forums.

On some of the other Bulletin Boards I visit, there are Forums for different states or regions of the country, and/or for other countries.

It's a great way to get in touch with the other quilters in your area, for meetings, field trips etc.

It's even great for those from out of the area, who can float on in when they will be in your area and check out the great shops, events, etc.

I know the UK Quilters are working on their own area and it's a busy place.

How about a separate forum for all of us to start topics for each of our areas so that they will be in a predictable spot ?

Thanks,

Sue
