Thanks Sharon though after a quick look at those sites I may be gone a long time. Vicki Welsh's fabric are wonderful and Margaret Solomon Gunn's quilting is to die for.

Good information on dyeing runs from Vicki, that's great. :)

Go to Vicki Welsh blog. She has a terrific blog about running fabrics and how to remedy it. From what I have heard it works wonders. Also Margaret Solomon Gunn has tried the same with her show quilts with great results. Good luck.

Please can anyone tell me how to remove dye that has run. Would decolourant work.

I prewashed the fabrics I had dyed but not some purchased fabric. I wasn't intending this wall hanging to be washed. My wretched cat peed on it but I didn't notice until I smelt it so could have been days ago and the smell was really strong. I had to do something and knew it could run but cat pee doesn't come out with normal washing so I sprayed it with Vanish gold link to product with has removed any trace from soft furnishings in the past. If I wash the whole top then I know lots will run.

It's a bright green onto a ivory white area. I could put a patch over it but would like to be able to get the green out. Top isn't quilted yet. On the up side it doesn't smell of cat pee any more.

Any advice is gratefully received bar shooting the flipping mog. Thanks :)
