Some of those books we have read. I will check out the others. It is funny, I was talking to friends yesterday and they had the Gold Finch sitting on their coffee table. I picked it up and took a quick look at it. I may have to take another look. Thanks for the suggestions :)

As you are Canadian do we assume that you have read all of Margaret Atwood's books? Alias Grace and The Blind Assassin are wonderful books.
The Goldfinch - Donna Tart.
Birds Without Wings- Louis deBernieres.
The Luminaries- Eleanor Catton.
The Invention of Wings - Sue Monk Kidd.
Under the Wide and Starry Sky - Nancy Horan. To name but a few. :cheer:

Speaking of Canada and audiobooks...
I am a Louise Penny fan. I have really enjoyed her series of Armand Gamache books.

emmajay - I live in Canada too. I've read both Pierre Trudeau's and Margret Trudeau's autobiographies. I'll bet you could find either of them in audio book, maybe at your library. Also, anything by Pierre Berton would probably be good, if you're into his stuff.
Pierre's is political and Margret's is personal. No kidding. :)

I especially enjoy autobiographies on audiobooks. They are great while doing housework. I particularly enjoyed Barack Obama's while he was running for president.

Thank you. I will check these books out. I am always interested in what other people are reading, especially within book clubs.

I just finished reading (actually listening to) "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" and "The Dressmaker of Kahir Khana". I thought they were both very good. If you want I can share other books off of our book club's list.

This book club has been going for 10 years , so we have read a lot of books. "The life of Pi " was one of them. Great book. Think I liked the book better than the movie. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Try "The Life of Pi" It's read by the author and better than the movie. And, the movie was good!

Last year, when Ricky was going on a car trip, he asked for suggestions of audio books. Several suggestions were given. I picked one of those books"Orphan Train" mfor my book club. There was a good discussion with this book. I would love another suggestion. Thanks
