DH and I were just saying today that we hadn't heard any more about the fires. Thank you for asking the question for us, Rosemary.

Diane, thank you for the update. Good news, but I am still praying too.

Are the fires out yet? Not heard anything recently.

Rosemary,

The High Park Fire (up here) is 100% contained. The Waldo Canyon fire (Colorado Springs) is also 100% contained. The monsoon rains have arrived. Now we are dealing with flooding and landslides...the Poudre river is polluted with ash so Fort Collins is not using it as a source of drinking water. They are getting their water from Horsetooth Reservoir instead.

Today is supposed to be hot and we are expecting hot temperatures until the weekend. Then, the monsoon rains will return. Our air is clean again (yea!)...I can breathe...

Diane

Dawn..I hear Montana has a big fire going ! Anywhere near you ?

No, thank heavens! There are no fires any where nears us! But the season has just begun! We had a pretty bad year about 5 years ago, but most summers since have been pretty good. I hope your Idaho fire is under control soon! My! What a terrible year, so far!

Really shocking to see the devastation on the news here tonight. I am sorry for anybody who has been evacuated or lost their homes and other possessions.

Just saw on the website that the high park fire is 75 percent contained. Those firemen have been working hard. Now for Waldo to get under control.

My heart goes out to all those affected. I hope and pray for rain and a swift end to the fires.
Many of you have put things so eloquently...I second that.

These fires in Colorado made the 6 o'clock BBC news tonight. The power of nature out of our control is quite awesome, if not always nice for us.

Dawn, I am sure you are feeling it could have been me. It could have been many of us. I pray for those in harms way, for those who've lost homes, and for those who offer shelter. It reminds me not to take life and its small pleasures for granite and to work harder at being oblivious to minor annoyances. God Bless and Keep All of You!
