Start saving, Eileen!

And before you decide on exact dates, check with Rita (or anybody else in Ireland), because now that Ireland is going to have it's own national quiltshow it would be a shame if you go just before or just after and miss it.

And if that doesn't work, there is always 'Festival of Quilts' (largest quilt show in Europe) every mid-August. The location is right next to Birmingham Airport and a railway station, with plenty of hotels, so it might be something to include in your itinerary.

Great idea, Lorchen. Our daughter is going to Ireland in June! DH Mike and I have never been; my father was born there and all 4 of his grandparents. Maybe in 2013?

I definitely enjoyed Rita's pictures! What a treat!! But this weekend I'm being treated to my first Cirque du Soliel experience (sorry if I spelled that wrong!), so no time for travels to Ireland. That will have to wait for next weekend....

Aw thanks Lorchen, I just enjoyed my finds so much I really wanted to share. Glad you enjoyed the mini-tour. There are so many archeological sites here in Kerry and elsewhere in Ireland and it's fun to go in search of them - it's like a treasure hunt! Kids enjoyed it too and have photos to show their art and geography teachers when they get back to school so they are happy. :D

Episode 106 won't go away, Nancy. I just wanted to point out how wonderful it is to link something new (Rita's beautiful pictures) and something old (the show with Denise Labadie). :)

I bet you'll have tons of fun at the C.d.S.!

I looked at all of Rita's beautiful pictures. Wonderful. I sure hope I can go to Ireland at some point in my life. It is the land of my ancestors.

I have just looked at one of the latest blog entries (I rarely have the time to read blogs, but sometimes just can't resist) and now know what I'm going to do sometime this weekend:

Rita is sharing pictures from a day out here: community/my-profile/Reetzbobeetz
If you are interested in culture and/or ancient history and/or anything Irish, then go and look at those pictures and read what Rita is saying.

And then get out your TQS DVDs or go to 'Watch a Show' here, sit down with your feet up, play some Celtic music, treat yourself to a glass of Jameson or Old Bushmills and watch episode 106 with guest Denise Labadie.

I guarantee you'll have a great time and will start immediately to safe up for a trip to beautiful Ireland!
