Our quilt shop orders, sells and uses a generic brand of blades. For $2 they can not be beat! They buy bulk and package them themselves. They wear as long as the name brands and can be resharpen if you really must. The LQS gets them from CHECKERS ware house. Join with a group or friends and have them get you the bulk then divide up the bounty.

For any of the Aussies here, I have bought Olfa blades from here: http://shop.ebay.com.au/janscraftsupplies/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

No Affiliations - Just a satisfied customer.

There may be other sellers with as good - or better prices. This was the best price I could find when I last purchased them.

I've heard that this site has great prices and the blades are just as good as the store bought ones. I'm not sure if I heard it on here somewhere or another sewing site.

Haven't purchased from them yet, but I know my source was reliable.

Last time I bought blades I did it through eBay and got a great deal. Sorry I can't remember the price I paid but do know it was much cheaper than any store. The blades were brand new, in the original packaging and I have had no problems with them. Definitely would buy them again through eBay. Bobbi

I always try to stock up on blades when ever JoAnns has 50% off their qulting supplies. Or I will use my 40% off coupon for those, if I need more, and don't have anything else I want to use the coupon for. I have so many extra blades right now, that I may never run out... LOL I Just need to remember where I keep them, especially if I clean up my sewing room and move things around. :P

Hancock's of Paducah has them for good prices, see the link here:

http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/ItemSearch--search-rotary-blades--srcin-1

A 10 pack of 45 mm Olfa blades is $29.98. Everything is 20% off til Wed. Dec. 2 at 5 PM c.s.t. with this code: HOLIDAY20

They have 5 packs too. Very good prices.

I do buy blades at JoAnn's but always with a coupon or when they're half price.

My only option for a source for quilting supplies where I live is JoAnn's. Tonight I went in to buy blades for my 45mm rotary cutter. I certainly had a shock to my system at the price. I've had a rather abundant supply for a long time and hadn't bought any. I couldn't believe $7.99 for one blade. Does anyone know of a cheaper source?
