The starting price around her is penny per square inch for a pantagram then goes up from there. Custom work can get up to 3 to 5 cents depending if it is for a big show and how dense the pattern is that is being quilted.

New quilters tend to charge less til they establish a following then the prices go up to match the more established quilters.

I also think it depends upon where in the country you are as to what the going rate is ... and how much competition is there among the LA quilters.

I hadn't planned to quilt it when I started; but when it got to that point, I just did it. . .it is custom; but a simple free motion design. If you quilt for others, what do you charge?
