Hi ive done a search and still cant find any pics using the same 2 square blocks that Ricky demonstrates in show 303. It is the free show offered when you first join.

Im sure people have had a go at this same technique. Put you hands up and drop me a note so I may look at your pics.
Thanks Heather

Hi Heather,
I don't have my convergence done yet, but I am going to add straight borders alternating black and white. Possibly making some of the strips wavy to go with the water theme. I have to build it out so it will fit a long twin bed. This is for my son who is going off to college for marine biology. Therefore I wanted it to look like water so made the second set of cuttings on the diagonal.

You just have to let the quilt top talk to you. Cheryl

I didn't welcome you yet Mrsmck. So glad to see another Aussie. For years I've been a big fan of the quilting that has been coming out Australia. You guys/gals have really got some talent and imagination!

Anyway you can search for pictures of convergence quilts on this site by going up above on the 2nd purple bar and click on "Search". Then click on "Find a quilt" and type in "convergence" in name of quilt box in the fill in format. When I did this it brought up 55 pictures that have been posted in the Gallery.

I find that when it comes to Convergence quilts there are not such a thing as "right and wrong" even though I have put a convergence into jail because the "insert fabric" was a bit dark compaired to the 2 other colors  . It is hard to plan how the quilt will look finished, it almost always give you a surprise  . When it comes to borders, I will not plan on what to do untill I have the senter finished. Sometimes the quilt wants some of its lines to continue out into the border...sometimes it just want one fabric.
As you may have discovered, convergence are just so easy and fun to make, so just play with it. Check out the gallery on Ricky's site for more ideas!

Convergence Quilt by Ricky 15 Mar 2009 09:14 #33339

Hi can someone help me out, well actually I hope lots of people can.

I have recently watched the free show 303 and had a go at the Convergence Quilt by Ricky. I chose 2 squares of the same fabric in a chili theme. (Thought this would be different). Not sure if this is right or not.

For something different I framed the 6 center panels with a sashing and made it look like 3 pictures side by side in a (triple photo type) frame. I am now looking for inspiration to complete the wall hanging. Ill post a picture soon. I was wondering how people finished off their quilt.

If you post a message I will assume you have a picture in your profile and I will go and have a look.

Thanks Heather
