I visited Back Porch Fabric in Pacific Grove today and it was a delightful shop. It has a wonderful selection of everything quilt related...books, fabric, patterns, notions...with many class samples and gifts. I definitely recommend this shop if you are in the area! I, too, visited both shops last year while on vacation. They were great! I would try and see both!

I visited both shops during a trip down there in January. Back Porch Fabrics is great -it is a beautiful, well stocked shop. The Hand Maden is a bit more of a fabric store, but worth a visit. Back Porch would be my favorite. They are only a few blocks apart.

As I am researching the area I have found these:
