You are going to laugh at this one..................

I read your note and thought, "Who is Jackie Robinson?" "Should I know her or are they talking old-tyme baseball?"

So I googled her.................and then realized I have 4 of her quilt patterns!

At least when the memory fails you get to be excited about old purchases every time you remember them!

I can relate. One day I was working at a clothing store and this lady walked in paid with credit card. While her card was running through I said any relation to the Laurie Morgan that sings just joking I hadn't even looked up. She laughed and said you could say that. IT WAS HER!!! I just about died. The store was so busy that day. She laugh and gave me an autograph for my neice. I wished her a safe travel to her next show. I had completely forgotten that she had done a show in the next county the night before. WHAT AN IDIOT!!! So don't kick yourself too hard. Rachel

I bet that's a fairly common occurence at any of the big shows, so many "familiar" faces since there are so many quilters we all want to learn from, be inspired by, etc.! That's where the guys have the advantage, fewer of them, but still folks confuse Ricky and John Flynn... and I'm sure others :?
One of these days I'll get to one of the shows...

 Three years ago at Paducah, I found myself beside a familiar-looking gal at the sink in the bathroom. While we were washing up, I asked her if she was a member of TVQA (Tennessee Valley Quilters Assn.) No, she wasn't. So I asked if she was from Tennessee? No. Texas? No. Hm, I said, I wonder why your face is so familiar. What is your name? Jackie Robinson, she said. Boy, was my face red!!! I don't know what I said, or mumbled.
