Hi Julie, I would try this for you but I don't have a ball-point needle. And no means of getting one until Monday. I wonder would Lois have one and be able to try it for you? Lois, are you there?

Re: How do you find the JANOME HORIZON on stretch/jesey fabr

Yes I would use a ballpoint needle but I was at the Janome dealers trying out the machine. I was trying out all the different features and I didn't think it would make much difference to the stitching, I was just using scrap fabric. Do you think it Would it have made a difference if I had changed the needle?

Can any of you who own a JANOME HORIZON give me some advise on sewing stretch/jersey fabrics. I am considering buying this machine and yesterday a did a test drive on it. As a quilting machine I was quite impressed with it but when I tried my lightweight jersey fabric on it and used some stretch stiches I was dissappointed. I tried it with a regular needle and the accufeed foot. It pulled the edge of the fabric into the foot plate and when it got to one of the pins I had in the fabric it didn't want to go over it and made a hole in the fabric. I want to use this machine for making garments as well as doing quilting. So if anyone can offer any solutions or has experience with sewing jersey/stretch fabrics on this machine I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Julie
