Unbelievably I won the Platinum last year. I am living without the thread cutter for classes. I ended up buying more stash. Lol

I have the Janome 3160qdc and I have had no problems with it, bobbin winding or otherwise. It's a great smaller machine, that has needle down, thread cutter (but I have a love hate with that function, no matter the machine, depending on the project), and speed control. Now that it plays second fiddle to my 6600, I wish it had a knee lift, but that's all I can say against it. My 6yo daughter even sews on it using the start/stop button and the speed set very, very slow. It also has a nice blanket stitch.

Because sometimes in life, stitching is the only thing that stays done.

I am researching a lightweight machine for classes. I love my Janome 6500 and don't think I can live without a thread cutter. The research shows some bobbin winding problems with the 3160. Any opinions?
