I sewed on a 602 for years (it was my Gramma's) until I could afford a machine that was younger than me.

It is a good machine for a beginner to work with. Especially, a younger child. Everything is mechanical and SOLID.

Hi Lynn,

Are you kidding? There a lots of folks who would love to have a basic sewing machine. I often see ads for them on sale at discount and fabric stores. I'm still using my 1970 Singer Futura, which I got new in 1970. I probably won't purchase a new sewing machine until this one dies. Too bad the "Cash for Clunkers" progam doesn't apply to sewing machines.

I have this machine purchased by my husband in 1966 or so. New. Is there any value to it? Should I try to give it away?

advice?

I now have a Janome 6600 and no longer need or want it.
