TOPIC: Walking Foot for Inexpensive Singer

06 Dec 2008 23:03 #29363

You might also want to check out the walking foot at Nancy's Notions, it's a little cheaper. I just received one from them, my machine has a low shank. I was very happy to pay $25 for one from them. I bought one a few months ago, supposedly an Elna (my machine) one and it set me back almost $70. I bought this for a spare. I do like the price and it works very well.

The Esteem is model number 1732, according to the Singer website, and they do make a walking/even feed foot for it. Check this site:

From looking at the pictures, I think it's a short shank model.

Walking foot for inexpensive Singer 06 Dec 2008 12:43 #29335

I just talked to my friend and found out that her machine is a Singer Esteem. Does anyone know which type of shank this machine has so that I can buy her a walking foot. Thanks for your help! Rama

You'll need to know whether the machine has a high shank or low shank foot--I ordered one from Keepsake Quilting, but got the wrong one. You could probably go to a dealer that sells Singers and they could help you. The model number would really help. Judy in Torrance

A friend has Singer machine that she bought on sale at Target for about $100 . I would like to get her a walking foot for Christmas, but don't know the model number. Do most of the Singers in this price range use the same walking foot? If so, where do you suggest ordering from so that it comes in time for the holiday. Thanks. RAMA
