Rita - Your little quilts are just so cute!! It's amazing how many you are getting done, yet the care and attention to detail you are putting into each one!

Oh, Rita, your spool (reel) mini quilts are just adorable! I like the embroidery around each one too. They are just so cute! Did you make them from the reel (spool) friendship exchange?
Cheers,
Shirley

Rits I love your new babies and look forward to seeing them at auction. Your use of color is great and I love then bird house. I have 1 new complete and one to bind and then I will register and send them. Yes I will get pictures here. We just came back from the birth of our newest grandchild. It is so wonderful to snuggle the new baby. I will get a picture posted to as soon as I get them downloaded. :)

{{{{{{{{CLARA}}}}}}}}

There's nothing so bad that it couldn't have been worse.
Feel free to let it all out here! Punch as many pillows, sofas, beds, etc. as you wish. Hug your kids, and your DH - they can probably use it as much as you!
Focus on, and enjoy the little things - love those pancakes - I bet they made you feel good for even the teensiest moment!

One step at a time!

Big hugs, love and positive continuously going out to you

Dearest Clara,

Life is full of hills and valleys. Sort of understand your grief, we lost our 17 year old son 13 years ago. Like the other post's here try to think positive and take one moment at a time.

Everyone's grieve's. There is no right or wrong way. Please keep in mind you and your family are most important. Do things how they would want you to do them. Take extra good care of yourself,

a few extra zzzz's, a long bath, day dreaming, reading, find comfort where you can.

There's lots of LOVE being sent to you and your family, may it lift you up.

Clara--I am so sorry that life is throwing so much at you right now. Although all our experiences are different, the past 20 years have been difficult for us as a family because of illness and we have had to give up our dreams and learn to accept a new reality. Many times I felt like one of those little toy punching bags that are weighted with sand at the bottom so they bob back up when they are hit--Except I was having trouble bobbing back up! I found it helpful to focus on things outside of the issues we were facing and also to always keep hoping for better times. When I lost hope of better times ahead, life definitely seemed very dark. I hope you can find the things that will help you keep on going and please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

PS I LOVE your pancake art!

dearest Clara,
Sometimes it comes down so heavy you need a hat...or 2 hats, or maybe an umbrella, too!
A friend is going thru some tough stuff lately & mentioned that she & her husband are
trying to find as many funny videos, jokes, etc. whatever they can do to encourage a laugh.
She sent me the following link.
Keeping you wrapped up in hugs.

Clara, I'm sorry to hear you're being deluged with unhappy things right now. Talking to us is good, so is finding someone to hug. And if that doesn't work, go hug (and cry into, if necessary) some fabric. Sending big hugs your way! Robin

I did get a little creative with some pancakes. Silly, but the boys liked it. Clara

Okay, Clara, I have a question regarding submitting an entry for the Altzheimer's Challenge. Earlier this week I woke up with the idea of printing an 8x10 photo of my Sunbonnet Sue challenge block on an EQ7 fabric sheet so I could practice FMQ on it before I actually did so on my original design. If it turns out to be nice and I add all the fun embellishment stuff I plan to do, and the quilting gives the "illusion" that she and the treasure chest were pieced, would that be acceptable to finish nicely and send in?

Hugs,
Shirley

I copied this from their website mainly about embelishing and size. Otherwise sounds really cool what you are doing. Clara

- Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts must be no larger than 9" x 12" No exceptions. Anything that hangs off the quilt (fringe, tassels, cording, handles, feathers, loops, etc.) must not extend beyond the 9" x 12" maximum size allowed.

- Quilts may be Alzheimer's-themed, but don't have to be. They DO have to be quilts: that's three layers, and the middle one is batting of some sort.

- Embellishments that can not withstand frequent stacking, sliding, shuffling against other quilts (or may harm other quilts that come in contact with them) are not allowed. No framed or mounted pieces.
