Oh no! It will make a nice gift, though, for someone in your circle of family and friends. Thank you for noticing - you wouldn't believe how many quilts I have to send back to the maker because they are too large and the quilter sends them anyway. So thank you for saving me that heartbreak!

Wow, I am so disappointed... A Day in West Africa won't be going to AAQI after all... I went to fill out the form only to realize that the max dimension is 9x12" and mine is 9 1/2 x 9 1/2' because of the binding... and there is nothing I can do to make it smaller because of the flying geese... I guess I just wasn't thinking . I'll pay better attention next time... Too bad because I totally enjoyed making this one as a Priority Quilt.

I am so excited to have finished it--I put the binding on this morning because I knew I would have to shut down Rita because even with a great surge protector, I don't want to take any chances with this hurricane/Noreaster... so I set aside a few hand stitching projects as part of my foul weather plan... If I finish these projects, I still have socks I started knitting and never finished... Rita, your lovely AAQI quilt which reminds me so much of skies and meadows will get here without too much delay!

Hurricane Sandy has just made landfall on Cape May, NJ a few minutes ago so now we will start getting the really high winds in this area. There's been quite a bit of damage up and down the coast and you are right, Rita, with darkness having fallen, it will be even more difficult for people, even inland, to deal with power outages and even worse, rising tide, flooding and mature trees falling onto houses because of ground saturation. With tonight's full moon, high tide will be even higher than normal.

Great little quilt Renata. Perfect flying geese too! My latest one will be sent off in the post tomorrow. I don't know how long it will take to get to the USA now but I am sure it will get there eventually. All flights from Europe to the east coast of America have been cancelled. We have been watching the news about Hurricane Sandy all evening and it is really terrifying. And made worse by the fact that night has fallen so it's difficult for people to see what's happening around them. I do hope you stay indoors and safe.

Renata, too cute! As far as registration, it won't matter, as Beth is going to Houston tomorrow and won't be doing any registrations for the better part of a week. As a rule of thumb, though, wait until you are ready to mail to get the number.

This little quilt does not hang very straight on my design wall because it is just a piece of batting hanging loosely against a window , but, here is my next AAQI quilt, I think I'll call it A Day in West Africa, unless someone has a better suggestion. The center is done in trapunto using invisible thread.

I will have to wait until the hurricane subsides to get a number because I might not be able to get to the post office until early next week. On the other hand, Diane, if you see this posting, please let me know if I should request the number now even if I can't mail it until early next week.

Many of you know this already, that I've had a tough year. Wanted to do something positive for me.

I made a wall hanging quilt with some of the HSTs from the exchange and will be bringing it with me to the Houston Quilt Show for everyone to sign. If you see me and haven't sign it, get my attention. I will have the quilt on me and plenty of pens. My boys, hubby, family, friends and other quilt buddies will also be signing it too. I'll be wearing a tie dye, like usual. Clara
