Two of my friends have done it and it is so beautiful. I would add that one decided to outline parts of it with pearl cotton and it really popped it! It is delicious!

I did not buy the fabrics with the pattern. I decided to pick my own. The fabrics are in the same flavor as the original quilt. HOWEVER, I have thought of going completely wild and doing batiks or brights on black.
There are so many possibilities!!

Your idea of blacks and batiks sounds wonderful.....I love batiks, Please send me a photo when you finish it.....I want to make one for my niece for her wedding "she's not planing it until she finishes College in a year, but it will take me that long to finish the Quilt.

I've seen this pattern and I think the fabric chosen for the kit is what makes it so nice. If other fabric/ colors were chosen the quilt wouldn't match the name. JMHO.

I was thinking about getting the pattern and would like to know what you think about the fabric that went with the pattern or did you chose you own fabric?
