I'll read anything, including the backs of cereal boxes  but my favorite books have some quilting in them.

Jennifer Chiaverini is the author of the Elm Creek Quilts novels and they are absolutely wonderful!

She also has written a few quilt pattern books, Sylvia's Bridal Sampler from Elm Tree Quilts is a beauty!

My sister recently gave me Jennifer's book "The Lost Quilter". I'm a little more than halfway through it and it's a great read. I am not an avid nonfiction reader, so any novel that holds my interest must be great.

I have read Wedding Ring by Emile Richards and have Sister's Choice on my MP3 player. They are 2 of 5 of her Shenandoah Album Books.

I download library books online and by chance I did a search this morning of books newly added to the site and there was Sandra Dallas's "Prayers for Sale". It's the only Dallas book they have so I am very happy I came across it. I'm looking forward to reading it.

Thanks for all the recommends.

Earlene Fowler does the Benni Harper mystery books with a quilting theme.

Here is a large bibliography maintained by a gal named Betty Reynolds.

http://infohost.nmt.edu/~breynold/quiltfiction_adult.html

She has done a great job. It really is the best list I have ever seen.

Another book which came to mind...Whitney Otto's How to Make an American Quilt which was made into a movie. Lovely book...and good movie.

Enjoy!!

Violet, thank you for starting this thread. In UK I am only aware of the Jennifer Chiaverini novels. I will check out your suggestions when I am in US in the Autumn. Pam

What are your favorite quilt novels and/or quilt noval authors.?

My absolute favorite is "No Time On My Hands" by Grace Snyder. This book is written by a woman when she was in her early eighties about her life in Nebraska during the late 1800's to late 1900's and how quilting affected her life. She has won many awards for her exquisite quilts.
