Background fabric for borders

Ebmotha, I just took the screenshot of the Marcia Derse fabric in the kit photo for the center of the pieced quilt and took your panels and cut a piece in EQ8 and put it as the
border. You can get an idea of what your panels would look like as the outside border. To draw the whole inside pieced area and put your panels in the inside area would take
a really long time. I might think of some other ideas. But this is it for today. HelenW

Ebmotha, I posted your panel next to the background fabric in the kit. If the lighting in your photo was good, it looks like your is a few shades darker in general. What size
are your 5 panels? If you remember could you tell me the company that manufactured them and the name on the panel? Won't get a chance to play around for a few days
but my mind is still thinking about it. HelenW

I have been learning much more about Electric Quilt from Kari Schell of Tech Know Quilter. I did go ahead and upgrade to EQ8 and I am glad that I did. There are also tutorials on the Electric Quilt website.

Ktmosedale, It is best to browse the previous posts because a lot of times you can find your answer without even posting. I put a couple screen shots with where, how and the answer from Barbara Black. I would cut them first. HelenW

Should I cut my borders out first to ensure I have long enough strips from the background fabric? I’m worried I might not have enough length by the time I’ve cut the background fabric for all the other bits. Can someone advise the dimensions needed for the border strips please?
