I’ve used my light yellow wool for house bodies, windows, roofs and doors...still under construction. Carole

The easy answer is yes.

The second answer is: there is no reason to square up the shot cottons. For the first strip, place the ruler so it is straight across the fold and make a straight cut, about 3.5” wide. Each of the fabrics will be cut into a wide variety of sizes, almost none longer than 3.5”. Yes, the first strip will be a bit wonky but you will be cutting it all up eventually. No need to spend time just to throw out the wonky part before you begin.

I received my kit yesterday and am very disappointed in the background fabric I ordered, which is the original Art History 101. There is nothing "wrong" with it, but it is wrong for me........I have tried to find the Confetti fabric so I can order that instead, but have had no luck finding one that works. I was wondering if The Quilt Show has extra that I can purchase (or perhaps exchange for the one I got) or if anyone here is wishing they got the Art History and would like to exchange with me. Thank you,

Lyndi, there are lots of people trying hard to find Art History 101--I bet you will get takers right here. First come, first serve--if you want Lyndi's Art History 101, let her know right away.

As for Confetti., email or call Customer Service--all Store questions go there. Contact info is below.

I want to make sure I use the kit fabrics appropriately so I have a few questions, please.

The two 1/2 yard blues (aqua and medium blue) we should save for the mariner's compass and can also be used for the buildings.

The two 1/2 yard greens (medium green and apple green) we should save for the trees.

The 21 1/3 yard fabrics are what we use for the buildings. The instructions say the yellow fabric (duckling) should be 1/3 yard but I only received 1/4 yard. Will that be enough fabric or is the yellow to be used for something different?

I am clear on what to use the rest of the fabrics for.

Thanks

I have answered this several times so will do it once more here:

The half yard blues are for the Mariner's Compass and buildings.
The half yard greens are for the Trees and buildings.
The yellow Duckling was only 1/4 yard in the Kit, the original Introduction Packet was wrong--I caught it while proofreading everything but it wasn't changed before it was posted. It was corrected and now says the correct amount: 1/4 yard Duckling
The Charcoal black and Cream white are only for the Inner and Outer Roads--a tiny bit of black is for a few skyscraper pieces. Do not use in any other buildings.

My detailed Blog that comes out on the first day of each month has information that pertains to that month's instructions. It is always posted on the Forum or you can follow the blog to get it as soon as it posts. Here is Month 1 again:

I have the same questions. Which fabrics do I need to save?

Hi,
I see that the thread kit includes both 60 and 80 weight. I assume that the 60 weights for piecing and the 80 weight is for appliqué - is that correct?
thanks

The 60 wt is for the top of the machine, the 80 wt is for the bobbin.
