Hi Barbara, I am waiting on my fabrics to arrive. Just watched the pre-washing video. What do you think about serging the edges of the fabrics before you wash? This will be my first time to use freezer paper with paper piecing and I am looking forward to your BOM. Also this is my first post in the forum, I hope to do it correctly.

You posted just fine. I don’t have a serger but even if I did it would feel like work to me so I wouldn’t do it. I expect a little raveling when I pre-wash so it doesn’t bother me. And making the small diagonal cut on the four corners helps enough for me.

You could try washing one piece of fabric with laundry to see if you think you need to serge.
