Enjoy "Color My World" by Wendy Williams - This beautiful quilt is constructed of soft and textural shot cottons from Windham fabrics on a richly patterned background. It offers so many opportunities for personalization through both embellishment and quilting- you could add house numbers, decorations, people, pets, garden flowers- there are so many ways to make this quilt truly your own!

Let's use this Topic "Color My World Show and Tell" as a place to show off your beautiful work. That way, you know where to come to see what everyone is doing.

The topics that apply to each month are a good place to ask questions or make suggestions for each block.

AND when you post your photos to Social Media, like Instagram, Facebook, etc., use either of these hash tags so everyone there will be able to find our wonderful work:

As I mentioned in the first post, it's been taken down until we get it corrected--hopefully, today. We don't want to confuse anyone.

I will discuss it in the Live broadcast about an hour from now.

Background cutting for Houses 1 and 2: I just watched Barbara's video on speed cutting background pieces large K and small J. To me the most important factor other than
speed (which is always good) is that your sides are on straight of grain not bias. Anytime you are doing a 360 degree quilt, accuracy is incredibly important if you want it to lay flat in the end. If you have bias sides to your wedges, it will stretch out of shape way more easily. And the paper from traditional paper piecing won't be there with the freezer paper method so you won't have that stability if you use the bias edge method. Proceed with caution if you go with the less fabric bias option. HelenW

Hi Wendy -
Where is the PDF for speed cutting located? I'm sure that I'm looking right at it - but I can't find it! Thanks.
Best wishes,
Mike

The PDF labeled "Speed Cutting Background Fabrics for Small Houses 1 and 2" will be revised for Small House 2. The rectangle needed to provide plenty of room to fit shape j should be 5.5" x 7". The size listed, 5.5" x 6" works but is tight. Rather than have to fiddle too much, we are going to revise the cutting to a larger size rectangle--for Small House 2, Side 1, piece j.
.

So cutting the background fabric of House 2, piece J, using the non speedy method @ 4" x 5.5" is correct?

That is correct--the instructions say 4" x 5.5"

If you have already printed the two PDFs, make a note on the smaller rectangle to cut it larger for Small House 2. The third PDF page will be forthcoming soon.

To avoid confusion we have removed the Speed Cutting Background Fabrics instructions until they are updated.
