This project is the kind that lends itself to working with friends, for support and fun. While we still are not gathering close together yet, you could see if there are those who live near you also making Color My World. You could Zoom, Facetime, or even talk on the phone, until you can meet up in person.
I expect there are thousands ready to start this quilt. Feel free to ask here if there is anyone near you who wants to collaborate.
My group, the Sunday Sew and Sews, started just this way when one of my students asked me if I thought she was capable of making the 2017 Halo Star Medallion. I put a little group together of those interested and had to cut it off at 15. We meet one Sunday a month, in person or Zoom depending, and they have become a group of fast friends, a band of sisters who mean the world to each other and me. And it all happened because someone asked for help and someone else (me) said "anyone interested in a little group?"
By the way, that student made an awesome Halo Star Medallion which won a Blue ribbon in it's first quilt show and was displayed at the most recent AQS show in Daytona Beach, February 2020.
