"Afternoon Delight" was one of Sue Garman's favorite patterns. This wonderfully scrappy quilt is truly a delight to make with its combination of simple appliqué and Double Nine-Patch blocks and modified Shoo Fly blocks. Each month you will work on pieced and appliquéd blocks, and in the final month, you will assemble the blocks and add the outer border. The finished quilt measures approximately 86 1/2" inches square.

Let's use this Topic "Afernoon Delight Show and Tell" as a place to show off your beautiful blocks. That way, you know where to come to see what everyone is doing.

The topics that apply to each month are a good place to ask questions or make suggestions for each block.

AND when you post your photos to Social Media, like Instagram, Facebook, etc., use either of these hash tags so everyone there will be able to find our wonderful work:

Hi Judy -

I can't help with the elastic. I got my elastic from Amazon back in March, when it was in short supply, so I got whatever I could get. It's round and black, but it's a bit rough and uncomfortable.

But for filter fabric, a lot of people are using Oly Fun fabric for filters. Although it hasn't been tested (I don't know if any fabric has been tested for home use), it is the same material that is used for the N-95 masks. The N-95 masks use a 3-ply version of the material and Oly Fun is a 1-ply version. Oly Fun is a craft material, so can be found at places like Joann's and Michaels. I got mine online at Walmart several months ago. It was in short supply then, but I'm guessing the rush for that is over so it's probably easier to find now.

I am looking for comfortable, round elastic to make masks - preferably black. I hope to find good, comfortable elastic that will hold up to lots of washing through the pandemic.
Can anyone recommend a good brand or source?

I am making masks with filter pockets.
